How do I use the .mdf file

Ok I dled this thing off the internet and it came in rar so I unpacked that and now I have .mdf file 1 and .mds file 1 and .mdf file 2 and .mds file 2. What do I do with these. I tried the search button and I dled the daemon tools not alcohol 120% because I don't want to waste the second trial(this is a laptop I used the first on a pc) and I don't know how do use the daemon tools. Can someone make a simple steps on how to use it. Or to burn it to a disc. Or somehow convert it to iso

MDF and MDS is pretty similar so you can mount either. MDS is more like the CUE file for BIN. The "1" at the end means disc 1 and the "2" at the end means disc 2. You can definitely mount these through Alcohol 120% and Isobuster. MagicISO will be able to convert it to ISO.

but when i try to use magic iso it says something about it not being found or something like that

Looks like I need to talk to you in analogy.

Just think of basic installation of software from CD. You see that in order to install softwares from "hardcopy" CD, you need to have a "hardware" that can read it. In this case, you need DVD-ROM drive. If you do not know DVD-ROM drives, it is the device that lets you read CD/DVD in your computer.

Now, .mds and .mdf files are the "softcopy" version of CD/DVD. That means that it is the DVD itself, but is saved inside the hard disk. But in order to play the "softcopy" CD/DVD, you need to have a "software" to play it. One of the software includes Daemon Tools, Virtual 7, etc.

So in order to play "softcopy" CD/DVD, you need to install "software" drive.

I hope that I make the explanation of the concept of emulation simple for you.

ok i did download daemon tools and mounted the file thingy. when i tried to play it after mounting it nothing appears on the screen. it just stays black. the drive says the game and when i double click that there's a bin file, 56 file, and some speed dial icon thing. now i just need it to work. and how can i burn this onto a disc so i can play it on my game system

Try Downloading ummm that program I think its called Dameon Toolz I am not sure but look for something similiar to that. I am not sure on this but I believe I use that program to read a mdf file for the game that I just downloaded and tried. But you will need a cd crack and possible a cd key after you open the mdf file.

its a ps1 game and it works now
now i just wanna burn the .mdf/mds to discs
