just one question, if halo2's coming out on pc....will it include the online play? It's just that i heard halo 1 pc version does not contain any online features, is it true?

HUH? Halo for the PC DOES allow for online play. It is one of the things that makes Halo so cool to play, as a matter of fact.
Halo 2 for PC (if ever Rolling Eyes ) should at least include the online options avaliable in the original halo, if it doesn't expand on them.

i think that halo 2 would be better on xbox than on the pc. just becuz its sucks when your playin a game on the pc and it just freezes because of someother program thats running. just imagine your about to snipe your oponent and then the game freezes and u lose track of where he is.

You people digust me. How can you even compare Halo 2 to the current crop of FPS games on the PC. FEAR does need high level requirements, but Halo 2 is no where near the graphical quality of Doom 3, Quake 4, Half Life 2, Call of Duty 2, and FEAR.

The guy who says that playing halo 2 on the xbox would be better than on the pc due to stuttering of another program, knows nothing about pc gaming.

This is why I hate the Xbox. All it breeds are young inexperienced gamers or hyped-up college dunces.

There is no reason to bring Halo 2 to the pc. The FPS PC market is too saturated as it is. Halo 2 will bring nothing new to the table.

Don't think I hate Halo 2, I actually thought it was a decent console fps for its time. Now, many things surpase it at so many levels.

To tell you guys the truth, I feel sick from even posting in this thread. You people should be ashamed.

That is why you shut off other programs before playing any PC games, not only Halo. Besides, if your computer is good enough you CAN run several programs in the background without games freezing. Mine's not that kind, but I've never had any problems with it.

Byrc: I do think that Halo 2 has no comparison with the meant-for-PC FPS games, but I am interested in playing it pretty much because I want to know waht happens after halo and because I have played it in the xbox once and I think it is pretty cool. I have no intention of buying a Xbox and I don't own any consoles at all, PC is my thing and I'm sticking with it. Halo is just a side interest. It is true that it won't bring anything new and is easily outdone at many levels, but it would just be nice.

on Window Vista only.. (what a great concept--OS that has reccommended spec of 512 MB gfx card..no RAM--gfx card!! omg!!)

I don't see what's so great about HALO series, but oh well...if you like it ^^ (I'll stick with my BF2)

I really see one good aspect of making a pc version of Halo 2; you dont have to buy an xbox console.I do have an Xbox and of course have Halo 2, but it would be nice to compare it to a pc version.

Halo 2 to Release on the PC

Microsoft has announced that Halo 2 will be released on the PC. Yet the game will only be available for Microsoft’s new operating system, Windows Vista.

The PC version will include Halo 2, the bonus maps from the Multiplayer Map Pack, and the ability to "build, create, and customize their own multiplayer levels."

No release date or other details have been given yet, but we will keep you posted.

Gee, thanks a lot microsoft!. I'm really looking forward to getting an expensive new operating system in order to play an old game that will cost $50 on release. Rolling Eyes

Well, that is it for Halo 2 PC for me. If it doesn't work on XP then it is worhtless, since I don't have neither the money nor the inclination to upgrade my system for at least a couple of years. And a single outdated FPS is not going to change my mind on the matter.

Whoever can, enjoy it!!

EDIT: Typos

ืnot to mention total overhaul of my computer.. nah--Halo 2 isn't that good in my book. I'll probably switch to Linux soon anyway.
ps. it seems like the new Flight Simulator will also be on Vista--that should help persuade some people.
