When I first saw the title for this, I thought it was Halo related, but looking at the screenshot, I was like "Oh wait, it isn't". BUT! When I took another good look at it, it turns out that indeed, it is Halo related.

Halo Wars is going to be of RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre, placing the player in command of human UNSC armies as they deploy for mankind’s first deadly encounter with the enemy Covenant forces.

The trailer shown at the X06 was hot stuff, so go watch it!

Is this the Halo game that Peter Jackson (LOTR) is working on, because I had read he signed on to help with one of the Halo games, as well as producing the movie....Looks like this is going to be another big hit.

My only complaint is that its on the 360. I just can't imagine myself playing an rts on a console. I mean, I'm so used to rts games with mouse and keyboard. Keyboards provide many options for hotkeys... but the xbow controller? Dunno... well, if they released some sort of custom controller for the game, then maybe, MAYBE, but otherwise I don't think that the gameplay will flow like other rts games.

agreed, rts games are much better on PC. i still play Starcraft lol, and ive tried many on consols. Well, i'm still gonna buy it!

overall this jsut seams like some run off of the movie based stragy games, like LOTR and Starwars. heh it even looked kinda like Battlefront too.

The trailer is freakin awsome, but the game will tank. Seriously, this is going to be like starcraft on the N64.

I know the topic is..old..

but has there been any news about this lately? I haven't heard anything about it. (It seems like apart from the main franchise, Halo hasn't been very successful.. movie died, this thing died.. no other merchandise.. well, maybe there are action figures, but I don't really know about that.)

Trailer was brilliant!

It would be interesting to see if it turns out to be something similar to battlefront, because I think rts will not work on any console other than PC. Age of Empires II on PS2 was an example - that just sucked!
