Man....This is getting confusing...I'm just like...And I dont even know what some of you guys are talking 'bout But the anime is getting better though... _________________ [IMG:350:100:fd0c78d353]http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/3054/beck3jk.png[/img:fd0c78d353]

Man, If someone seemed a good match for Yuichi it was Ayu. Sure she was dim-witted and "Uguuu-ish" but she was a nice person otherwise. What the hell is going on? It certainly does suck to be Yuiichi. I'm looking forward to finding some explanations on the next episode.
What's obvious so far is that 7 years ago Ayu fell from the tree and... died? I don't know, but something bad happened. I wonder if what Ayu is lookng for is the Angel Yuiichi gave her. Remember how it had 3 wishes? So far we only know she spent 2, maybe she's looking for it to get her 3rd one. That's what I think, anyway.
I wish they had borrowed the piano version of fafner's ED for this episode. That would have put people to tears.

Well it is now time for me to enforce this officially
In case the anime is formally a manga (i.e manga-anime conversion) then the following rules applies:
1. NO MANGA SPOILER (Yes, including those which are put in the spoiler tags)
2. NO MANGA DISCUSSION
3. Comparing anime-manga is only possible, when the comparision doesnt gives out ANY SPOILER regarding the anime.
The same goes for the hgame-anime conversion or whatever conversion it is, just replace the word MANGA with the approriate word.
Logically, the last part applies to re-makes as well.
please be courtious when posting about prior knowledge that doesnt come directly from the show in question. and try to use correct english whenever possible. -ddog

Actually, so far every ending including Makoto's seems to end happily.
Because they just hint that she comes back in the spring from her ending.
Well... Yuuichi's luck with girls is terrible... But it always seems to turn out ok'ish in the end.
I wonder what Ayu was seeing when she was at that tree alone. Was she always in a trance when she got there, and had no idea what was going on? Did it have to do with the animal in the forests. This episode seriously leaves me confused as to... Ayu's mental state. I always figured she wasn't really going to school... I also was pretty sure that she lived alone with no parents, though I don't believe they ever mentioned it completely. Still, she's been going there all that time, completely oblivious to the fact that there was nothing there? That's a bit shocking really.
Guess we'll find out what going on in a few days though, really looking forward to it.

Well, I hope you people don't have a war you want to wage on happy endings. There's nothing wrong with them, especially not after what you deem as a consistently sad atmosphere in the show. The OP and ED should give a hint of that already.
Episode 20:
Really, really good, damn it. Subtle hints dropped all over, first with Ayu's words, facial expressions and actions, as well as the supposed repeat of the scenario of Ayu waiting in the past for Yuuichi, only that they were grown up. It's those small differences that makes the show more interesting.
And there you have it: Akiko's ominous words: "It's nothing...Just a tree that was cut down..." Something tells me the tree has EVERYTHING to do with Ayu's 'school', empty angel-winged bag and lost item, for which I have an idea of what it is. Everything just gives you the feeling that something sad is going to happen...Ominous indeed.
Even Nayuki wasn't spared. Despite reassurances through the hint that she wished Yuuichi and Ayu well despite her own feelings, it doesn't seem as though she abandoned them completely...Or maybe I might be looking at things the wrong way. Even so, Nayuki did behave somewhat abnormally, which might be either linked to Ayu, or to her own feelings.
Let's see what happens in episode 21.... _________________ [IMG:350:100:b32e8a3e97]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a103/FAITH01/tomoyo1.png[/img:b32e8a3e97]

KyoAni spared no expense on episode 21:
I really don't recall Akiko's accident in the original broadcast, so to watch it unfold at the end of this episode was quite surprising. Even more so was the fact that it was actually quite graphic given the circumstances of the show itself. It seriously made me cringe to see the car swallow up any trace of Akiko as she walked idly across the street.
They're taking a different direction regarding Ayu and Nayuki as well, but I find it to be better. I don't think I'll ever really like Ayu, not because of her trademark annoying catchphrase, but because her actual story never really resonated with me. Watching the KyoAni version, even after changing my mind about Makoto, my opinion of Ayu is still unwavering. Never liked her, never will...
Nayuki, on the other hand, is someone you cannot help but feel sorry for, especially after the recent episode's events. A lot of crap eventually falls into her lap and she's had her feelings hurt repeatedly, yet she seems to carry on quite well. Nayuki's snow bunny scene, while I still know the reason for Yuuichi's actions, is still sad and I'm still angry at Yuuichi for doing something so mean to someone who merely came to try and cheer him up...
Next episode: Nayuki is about to lay the verbal smackdown on Yuuichi. Awesome...

Stupid Episode 21
I enjoyed Episode 21 right up until the end. Then ARGH!!! Why? Why do that to Nayukis mom. I mean I could sense it building towards something like that, but to watch it... Just horrible. She better not die is all I can say.

is all I could say after watching episode 21...
There she was minding her own buisness and....BANG .....can't help but feel sad and suprised....I guess what gave me the most shock was when she actually got hit by the car... in most anime's they show a car/truck about to hit the person and just as its about to hit it focuses on something else, not showing how she/he really got hit.

Episode 21 is truly descending into melancholy...
Finally, Nayuki's past with Yuuichi is revealed, in effect showing why she changed her hairstyle and how her first love rejected her. It's apparent that she hasn't entirely put aside those feelings, which makes her plight after the end of the episode all the more terrible.
The irony from the preview isn't lost: Nayuki comforts in this episode, but she's the one who needs it suddenly in the next one, but apparently refusing it from Yuuichi. Makes me think somehow this girl's just holding in all her negative feelings... _________________ [IMG:350:100:b32e8a3e97]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a103/FAITH01/tomoyo1.png[/img:b32e8a3e97]
Damn! and I always thought Akiko was such a great person! I didn't expect her to get offed like that... I wonder if she's still alive. Hopefully she is.
Now it is impossible not to feel sorry for Nayuki. She's always been supporting Yuuichi even with all the crap she took from him back then. It's not really his fault, but she still has gone through a lot. Now the loss of her mother is probably more pressure than she can handle.
Fight, Nayuki!
I wonder what Yuuichi is going to do with the angel that he found. Summon Ayu again? or use it for something else?

Interesting how you put it as "summon" Ayu. Who knows, maybe she's a being from a different plane, but it's just interesting how you put it that way.
How many more episodes to go?

Episode 21 was interesting enough.
Reguardless of what's happening I still don't see Nayuki and Yuuichi ever being together. First off... They're family. Second off, he's in love with Ayu, always has been until whatever event transpired to make him completely forget everything... I would assume there was more to it then Ayu not showing up or him lashing out at Nayuki. At least that's what I think...
It's not as if I don't like Nayuki's character, I just think it would be better if her arc was resolved by her and Yuuichi going over what happened in the past. His ultimate apology, and her getting over him and moving on. Yuuichi is relatively a nice guy, so for him to do what he did was completely out of character, he must've been in a truly terrible mood to lash out like that. And we'd all know he'd do whatever he can to make her happy now that he's realized what he's done, but honestly... Can he really just forget about Ayu that easily and move on? He at least still bring up Makoto and thinks about her, and this relationship with Ayu is alot deeper then his was with Makoto.
Anyway, I miss the Uguu~ Power, so it needs to come back. Who knows how it'll end though, I'm pretty sure watching a few of the episodes over again though... Would give some pretty solid clues.
Oh...
That car crash was... Somethin else for sure... I could feel it coming as soon as that other teacher interupt the class.
