just watched 16 and 17... its so good but anyways....Can some1 plz tell me what the name of the that piano piece in epi 17? it was started like 15:15 and ended around 17:00 into the video. Oh and I watched it in Sprocket subs.(if that matters). I REALLY want to know the name of it or where I can find that piano piece _________________ [IMG:350:100:fd0c78d353]http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/3054/beck3jk.png[/img:fd0c78d353]

Another "I'm gonna die" arc, huh? I like Shiori, but I was hoping it wouldn't go this way... Is it gonna be just like Makoto? so far it kinda looks like it. At least in the case of Makoto we saw her get progressively worse and wors, but here... it is like "oh she's gonna die... just like that". I don't recall seing her cough or show any discomfort yet. For someone a couple of days away from death she looks awfully energetic. And what's with the "deadline for death" thing? Everyone takes Sunday as if it were absolute... I didn't know medicine was so precise when it came to ToD.
Although I don't like where this mini-arc is going, I have to admit that it is going well. Shiori is a good character and Kaori's conflicts are understandable, at least. We'll see how ep 18 goes. Looking at it the good way: if this is the worst Kannon can do, the standard it set for itself is rather high.

-The graphics were awesome, thanks to the earlier showing of the river when Yuuichi and Kaori were walking home and the fountain of changing colors. And of course, the snow.
-This episode told me quite a bit more about Shiori's character, that despite all her strength shown in handling the matter with her once beloved sister ignoring her almost completely now, she has more or less given up on fighting an illness that seemed incurable. Ironically, instead of wallowing in despair, she continues trying to make every day a happy one till Sunday with Yuuichi, no less.
-Kaori's a strange one; Showing concern for Shiori as to how she spent her last days as compared to treating her as little more than a stranger. It sounds to me that she still cares, but also wants to run away from the pain and suffering she will receive when Shiori goes if she continues caring so much for her imouto. It remains to be seen whether Shiori's last wish would be granted...Be it posthumously or on her birthday, while she lived.
-To me, Yuuichi's taking the opposite path of Kaori. He knows that he's going to get hurt (duh...once bitten, twice shy. Remember Makoto), because at the end of all the happy days he spent with Shiori is the grim fact of truth that he's going to lose her. Yet the man's doing all he can to make her happy despite his few random showings of melancholy and possibly hesitation. Points to him, indeed.
-Of course, the highlights of the episode was a look into how Shiori would behave in school (The hesitance before, during and after the curry reaction itself was absolutely kawaii~) as well as how she would spend her days normally with friends.
-There are also a few more bits of development on Ayu, seeing as how she suddenly wants to be close to Yuuichi more than ever (during nighttime, no less) and the issue with the hairband, of which we saw a similar one with Yuuichi much earlier in the series.
The preview seems pretty ominous. I'm ready for another nostalgic heartwarming yet ironically heart-rending episode at the same time when Shiori's arc probably reaches it's climax and possible end.
10/10 for the mood generated in episode 17.

It's simple. The indication of why she doesn't look so sickly is explained in it's fullest in episode 17 itself:
Shiori wants to live the life she always wanted in her last days with Yuuichi and her sister. Trivial little facts like not even bothering to remember the disease (meaning that it felt inconsequential to her) and asking for Yuuichi to treat her like an Onii-chan would treat his imouto, going to school in her uniform, bringing lunch for Yuuichi...It all shows that despite the fact that she knew she was going to die, she didn't want that to bog her down. The point where she keeps coming to school to see Yuuichi and possibly Kaori as well is actually an underlying fact that she has long gone past caring about being sick at all, possibly to the point where she tries even not to show her weakened condition as much as possible.

It isn't really a mini-arc, really. She's one of the main female leads in Kanon, truth to be told.
And yeah, Shiori really defines "kawaii" in episode 17. _________________ [IMG:350:100:b32e8a3e97]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a103/FAITH01/tomoyo1.png[/img:b32e8a3e97]

It wasn't really conclusive, especially since
We don't know whether Shiori really 'left this world' after leaving Yuuichi with that letter. There's a possibility that the scenario could mirror that of Mai's where the arc was only fully resolved in episode 16. Still, I'm not very hopeful for a miracle where Shiori manages to live on, not after seeing screenies of the preview. _________________ [IMG:350:100:b32e8a3e97]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a103/FAITH01/tomoyo1.png[/img:b32e8a3e97]

Ayu to the rescue?
It takes almost all of the episode, but here's where Ayu's arc starts. They kiss in the last few moments.
Anyone else think that Nayuki is talking about Yuuichi (to Yuuichi!), even though he's totally oblivious to it?

There's no one else it can possibly be haha. Since no one else gets into those kinds of situations that often.

The episode would have felt sudden, in particular the kiss...Had it not been for the fact that I remembered all the subtle development occurring between Yuuichi and Ayu in the previous 18 episodes. This one's pretty good on the whole-though there was a dip in animation quality. Something tells me they might merge Nayuki's and Ayu's arcs in the last 5 episodes.

And Shiori's ending, too, as she is still kicking around, after all. At one point someone even says that she's doing well, Nayuki I think it was. So we're still waiting for a conclusion (in events, if not in story) to the Shiori arc. If she can stick around until Mai recovers, then Mai can save her of course...

It's all a matter of opinion. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean that we cannot. It's alright that you can't understand us, because there will always be people out there that someone can't understand. Also there isn't very much use for posting that kind of comment here.
It was Kitagawa-kun who said that she was doing alright (the scene where U1 and Kitagawa were in the cafeteria without Nayuki and Kaori).
man, i just caught up last night (to ep 19), and i'm thrilled that i did. i have some speculation on shiori and ayu, but they're based on what i remember from the original way back when.
i think shiori and ayu will come to a conclusion at about the same time. kitagawa indeed did say that she was still around, and i'm thinking that means a trip to the hospital. as far as i can recall, that's also where ayu's story starts to unravel and if i'm right, these next few eps, barring filler, are going to be completely heart wrenching.

I've started to notice a trend within Kanon that I can't say I'm happy with. Minus Makoto's arc,
everyone's arc ends on a high note, happy ending type of deal. I mean look at Mai's, she defeats her inner demons, saves Sayuri and after some time in the hospital will be just fine to go on. Shiori's ends with her running off and knowing she's to die any day, but we then hear the next episode that she's doing well, as if she may not die. If what I remember from the first series is correct, Ayu's will end quite happily and Nayuki will learn to let go of her unrequited love for Yuuichi.
For some reason when I realized this, it makes me kind of cheated.

so this anime is horribly confusing, i'm starting to think that everyone in the town is a anime from the forest or yuuich is in a comma and dreaming this entire thing. but damn, this guy has the worst luck with girls. soon as he get close to one she pulls a ninja vanish.
