I've decided that Yuuichi is just a bit of a b*st*rd. He's really harsh to virtually all the girls in this anime, most notably Makoto. But he also tells each of them off all the time, and pokes fun at them as well! Honestly, for a Harem lead, he's one harsh guy.
I guess some people would feel the same way, but perhaps its because he's different from how typical harem male leads are being portrayed, or behave? From what I've watched, most of them don't really go around teasing people that badly. I agree he was somewhat of a guy who has gone too playful. Luckily, though, he makes it up by
Telling Ayu that he had a good time, which was IMO an attempt to at least temporarily drive away her fears.
One other thing: It could be in him to tease, anyway. Even when he was young, he did that with Ayu. I had a good idea that he was doing so, especially since he
probably called Ayu 'Ayu Ayu' on purpose, as well as teasing her about an early confession of love.

I like Ayu. I'm going to keep saying it. She's cute. So what if she says Uguu?
On other episodes, I tend to disagree, but this one takes the cake. I don't see Ayu to be as annoying as before, and I guess that leaves us with Makoto with her pranks. Still, from the previews, they might be using that as a basis to develop her character more deeply, something I'm looking forward to.
This episode was fabulous with its humor....Definitely. _________________ [IMG:350:100:b32e8a3e97]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a103/FAITH01/tomoyo1.png[/img:b32e8a3e97]

He's actually toned down a little from the original series. Well, not so much toned down but he never took any action to make up for his tendency to condescend towards the girls he talks to (particularly Ayu and Makoto because they're just so easy to make fun of). 2006 Yuuichi is much nicer.
Extra note: You never see Yuuichi talking down on Mai and Sayuri, I'll tell you that much. =P
Extra x2 note: Uguu is still anoying. I did enjoy when Yuuichi pointed out the different variations of it, however.

I found that part hilarious, I couldn't stop laughing~ Uguu isn't as annoying...although I still find 'Auu' annoying.
Oh I agree Yuuichi is different from your typical harem male leads who are usually pushovers... I personally don't find him that harsh towards the girls though. _________________ Get ready to vote for who you think is the Sexiest Anime Character!!

He is? Amazing~
Oh, that was sarcasm, by the way.

As per usual, Mai and Sayuri FTW!!!
I guess your first note makes much sense. Perhaps for one thing, I don't think anyone can ever talk down on Mai, anyway. As for Sayuri....She does give me the feeling that she's another one of those girls able to talk with Yuuichi on an 'equal' level other than Kaori.
Can't say I agree completely with your second note, but you have my wholehearted support on the last statement. _________________ [IMG:350:100:b32e8a3e97]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a103/FAITH01/tomoyo1.png[/img:b32e8a3e97]
lol... the first Yuuichi must have been quite an ass, then. Anyway, he seems like a nice enough guy right now. despite his tendency to talk down on Ayu and Makoto he is clearly doing it for fun, not because he really thinks they are total idiots.
ep 6 was ok. I kinda wish Mai cut to the chase and just spilled the beans on Makoto, but she doesn't seem to be too clear on what's going on. And, if she did, that really wouldn't be like her.
Yay! horror movie for the win! It sounded like your average normal horror movies nowadays. Blood, guts and no plot. It was fun to see Yuiichi kinda bored by it, while Ayu was just cringing in her seat _________________
Beg your pardon...But that constitutes as a spoiler, especially for people who haven't played the game at all. _________________ [IMG:350:100:b32e8a3e97]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a103/FAITH01/tomoyo1.png[/img:b32e8a3e97]
Episode 7 done...
It's all about Makoto! Last episode we were treated (or tortured ) by the amount of 'Uguus', and this time it's the number of 'Auus', especially with Akiko's special jam tasting.
What attracted my attention more was the lack of humor in comparison to the previous two episodes, as well as a gradual unveiling of who Makoto might be. The issues about abandonment weren't too deep, but it shows how Makoto truly feels when she was alone with the kitten. Why did she go to the extent of dropping it onto a truck and then taking a whole afternoon to look for it again?
Yuuichi struck me as being brash in this episode, though, further reinforcing why Makoto felt that she was a 'nuisance'. Good thing he stopped short of hitting her. Furthermore, I'm getting the vibes that Makoto's past/origin/memories are somehow tied in with the kitsune that looked at them when Yuuichi carried her home...
Anyone notices how Mai talks more to Yuuichi when they are alone? Somehow the latter passes off as a guy desperately trying to get her attention when they were eating together with Sayuri. (By the way, this is just a joke...The last sentence, that is. ) _________________ [IMG:350:100:b32e8a3e97]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a103/FAITH01/tomoyo1.png[/img:b32e8a3e97]

For me it came as a shock when I heard the new Yuuichi's voice, seeing how all the voice actors for the female roles stayed on from the original, I was expecting the same from our main man.
So far I agree with what everyone has said about Yuuichi not being the typical push-over you expect from the harem male lead. But then again, maybe it's an attempt by Key to break down the stereotype and try something new.
At the moment I've just finished ep3, and I can't wait to see Mai in action. After all, there wasn't much of her in the original 13 episodes, even though she was the COOLEST character.
Well, since TheLoneBrit101 here hasn't watched anywhere near to episode 7, I'll refrain from spoiling about episode 8. I just have to say that the episode alone is gives off quite a serious vibe, and that's a sign of departing from the mostly humorous episodes into the emotional ones. _________________ [IMG:350:100:b32e8a3e97]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a103/FAITH01/tomoyo1.png[/img:b32e8a3e97]
