if u have kids, would u encourage ur kids to watch animes?

i dont mind getting my kids to watch anime but there's always a limit. I'll pick what kind of anime my kids would watch depending on their age and whats appropriate for them at that time. And definitely "NO HENTAI"!! NO! NO! NO!

As mention here before, its a good way to spend time with your kids!
Create a good strong Bond with them in a young age and they'll be bonded with you all the way! Very Happy

If animes are bad for kids, then they are probably also bad for adults, although perhaps to a lesser degree.

So for the people that say they'll let their kids watch animes, I doubt they feel like animes are bad for they themselves at all. Likewise for the people who think that animes are bad for their kids, they probably have an inner concious or subconcious doubt/fear/guilt that anime is probably bad for they themselves too.

The question is then, if you feel strong enough to keep your kids from watching them, why are YOU watching them?

I'd rather my kids watch anime then watch that much music or BET crap and talk like a gangsta to me. Seriously, if my kid starts acting like a gangster I'd smack him and burn all his clothes.

so animes are the lesser evil then? but if anime's are evil even just a little why not just have him watch something that's not evil at all?

or is that just that shareing our mostly harmless corruptions is enjoyable?

I don't have any children, but if I did I don't think I would want to shelter them much from whatever harms are possible from animes. I guess it would depend on their age a little, but as soon as kids are able to hold a decent length conversation I don't see the point of any further sheltering since whatever questionable material comes up can just be fuel for a good family discussion.

If i have kid, I will not order them to watch anime. I prefer him/her to explore the television which they prefered channel to watch. Its a different story if my kid saw me watching anime and enjoys it.

If they're too young, of course not, but as they grow older, their hobby will follow. It is only too natural that anime otaku will eventually be getting into the perverted side of the subculture.

I remember back when I was ~15, I denied all association of anime with porn. Well it turns out, they're the two sides of the same coin... The porn side of the anime is what drives the creative juices of "creators". Lots of anime derives from adult material, lots of mangaka or character designers starts off drawing porn.

I grew up watching Japanese animations. So, I loved anime all my life. If my kids start to like anime, I just hope they don't get too into it TOO early in life. I'm pretty sure anime will ruin their social life and grades. Sad

My kids? Yes i would like them to watch animes . Animes are full of messages that speak about life itself in most cases.
Relationships , love , destiny....all of those that may be hard for a child to understand. But almost in all animes good always prevails showing that being good is a good thing.
You can learn a lot by watching animes and thats why i will let my kids watch them. But not Hentai.

I cannot decide on what my future children will watch for that is there own to discover. Perhaps I might influence them but not force them.

But there are limits for I will not let them watch anything explicit (anything with too much violence, fan service, swearing, etc). Definitely not hentai.

But what Silver said is correct, it may be natural for them to satisfy their horny urges. They'll probably watch hentai or explicit behind my back at night. Kind of what I'm doing, except not hentai.
