I don't think this anime has had a thread yet... but so far I watched till episode 5 and I am impressed. They do the vampire theme VERY VERY well despite the comedy which is in my opinion misplaced.
Watch it. It looks like a 9/10 so far. |

Now that you mention...
Yea coincidencely I'm aftering this series as well... is like abit of Hong Kong style meet Japan. You know those funny funny comics drawn by most Hong Kong mangaka which occasionally concentrate on fighting kungfu and etc? Our hero resembles one of the heroes i've seen...
So far, this series were ok but not so good to the extend i would give it a 9/10. At most perhaps 6/10 since originality is lacking in this series. However I do enjoy the fighting scene and the cool hero. Sad to say the heroine is boring >.< _________________ [img:800:198:5c85a10b1b]http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1347/feenasighk3.jpg[/img:5c85a10b1b] |

I give them lotsa credit for sticking to the theme that older vampires of unique bloodlines are stronger and more powerful. They did a great job showing this, like the part where he comes out in the ship and the ocean. The anime does not have fillers yet... the heroine i agree is boring... and the animation is crisp clean...
Frankly 6 is way too low.. 6 is something I would give to some dumb no real story series like Witchblade or some weak drawing slapped on no-sense story like Condor Hero. This is way more entertaining than that.
Lets compare it to past vampire series....
Trinity Blood (no way this one wins it, Trinity Blood was weak action and very religious based and the good guy kicks everyone's ass... at least we see BBB's hero not always be the best).
Blood+.... chick with a sword... despite her ancient ancient age compared to the other vamps, she was as flimsy as paper... BBB makes more sense.
Hellsing OVA... yeah now we are talking equal levels almost... Hellsing OVA is better I think.
Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust.... more mature and serious... sticks to the theme of vampires and sunlight dont mix.. lotsa cool ideas.. it trumps BBB but not by much.
Like I said... 9 is good.. maybe 8 if it doesnt get better. 6 is harsh. |

I'm sticking with 6 coz i dont see why a vampire should be using Samurai Sword since a Sabre or Long Sword would be nicer... And our hero appearance seems to reflace that Bloody ZAFT Supreme Ruler in GSD series.
Sure... sticking with the oldest being the strongest is nice but then again most vampire series were boring. Hellsing were good in manga but horrible in anime. Blood+ is out of topic, I got enough of Chick with Blades... Well vampire is and all time favourite and I quite enjoy a vampire related series... but so far... the best Vampire related anime I've watch is still VAMPIRE PRINCESS MIYU which hardly even related to Vampire accept that heroine is Vampire herself.
BBB is nice since we got lots of vampire lurking around and some automatic machine gun actions... then again is still early to judge this anime. It is nice but still too early to give it a high ratings... something tells me I aint gonna like the later on story... _________________ [img:800:198:5c85a10b1b]http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1347/feenasighk3.jpg[/img:5c85a10b1b] |

A vampire uses a sword over a gun because other vampires don't die from gun wounds. On the other hand, cutting a vampire's head with a sword will do it.
Just watched episode 9.... SWEET! Reminded me sooooo much of White Wolf's Vampire the Masquerade...
Damn good series... |

Damn good game, as well. If you can get past all the bugs, that is (I'm talking about Bloodlines here).
What's the story and characters like? It's not often that you rate anime highly, Faebinder, so I'm interested in getting into this. Especially if it's reminiscent of Maquerade. All you've rated so far is the world and the style, though... |

Oh, never mind. I've read your review now. Definitely going to look into it when I have the time.
Oh, and apologies for the double post. |

| It's alright. I am just impressed that they would stick to the ancient vampire theme vs the younger generations. Someone did their homework... now if only they took cuteness out of it... but they are doing a great job toning it down. |

Hmmm... Is indeed nice to see that someone still doing their homework seperating the gap between Ancients and Young Ones. However, I feel lacking a little in their elaboration... perhaps later they'll explain.
No doubt the series is getting better, I just hope it doesn't end up like Trinity Blood to me. Don't get me wrong Trinity Blood is a great anime but somehow I stop half way forgotting the reason, maybe when the DVD comes i just purchase it.
P/S: Just Purchase Kagihime Monogatari DVD yesterday =P _________________ [img:800:198:5c85a10b1b]http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1347/feenasighk3.jpg[/img:5c85a10b1b] |

I also think that this anime is promising. It seems to take its time to let the story unravel but that's pretty typical. One gripe with the animation is that some of the characters of the company seem to look too much alike and I've was a little confused in ep 10 because of this.
I really like how most of the themes of the show are not black and white. Even the dreaded kowloon children are protrayed in a way that the viewer can sympathize with.
some people have comented on the weakness of the heroine, but I think her character is pretty interesting. she's very committed to her work and yet she doesn't worship policy either. The series hasn't really focused on her much but I think that she has potential to be a strong character. I hardly can imagine that she will end up with jirou but they will probably have some clever interactions.
I like jirou's little brother also. He is really naive, but not stupid. His faith in people including 'bad' vampires is admirable. So far he hasn't faced any true adversity by himself, so I'm really interested to see how he handles things when confronted with a non-black and white issue.

Welcome to Anime-Source.... don't post crap again please otherwise the moderaters will be forced to duck you points for wasting everyone's time. If you want some points then go answer some surveys or write some GOOD reviews.

I cant belive this anime is almost over. I love it and would have liked it to be at least 26 episodes instead of 12. |
