A program to download? Try IRC. Most manga scanslation groups have IRC channels so you can quickly download manga. In my opinion it is cumbersome, but effective to use.
About the program to actually read it... just let whatever program you have in your computer handle it. I've personally never needed anything fancier than Windows Picture Viewer, with comes in by default. Simplicity is your friend! _________________

It comes by default with Windows XP. What operating system do you have?
Anyway, manga typically comes in compressed image files (.jpeg, .png). As long as you have anything to see pictures with, it should work.
Umm... although this isn't exactly high level technical discourse, maybe someone will have a better idea in the Tech Area Forum.
Thread moved. _________________

| If you're on Windows and looking for the best program to view any kind of pictures especially your beloved manga, IrfanView hands down. |

| hmm... I use CDisplay and I think it's good enough for the purpose (although I find the inability to delete bookmarks a bit annoying). |

For reading manga I use a program called MangaViewer which I downloaded off www.toriyamasworld.com it has its pros and cons, but I've stuck with it for many years now _________________ Get ready to vote for who you think is the Sexiest Anime Character!! |

I still find Comics Viewer the best program to read manga scans. It has several useful features like bookmark, read from zipped archive, magnifier and slide show.

If you have some spare cash, try to grab ACDSee. It has lots of neat stuffs and functions that may come in handy. _________________

Good lord! There were this many Windows users who didn't know about ACDsee??? Why that's the single best picture browsing software on any OS platform in the world!
Listen, You know when you download manga, you usually have to unarchive them first either .zip or .rar? You don't need to unarchive and waste precious harddrive space or mess up the organized folders, because with ACDsee you can browse through zipped or winrared files right away.
In my opinion, ACDsee is unchallenged in terms of its functionality as a picture browser/viewer.
When I made a switch to Mac, that program was the one thing about Windows that I missed the most. There are no ACDsee support for Mac. I often reboot my iMac into WinXP mode just to read manga in my hard drive. I don't want to unarchive all those tens of thousands of zip/rar manga files. |

And? CDisplay can do that too. I never had to unarchive zip/rar files when I read manga too... |
