some of you may have noticed that I haven't been online much recently. Not that this is my biggest reason, but one event that has taken up most of my time on Monday was this:
I wasn't in the accident, but I was the fire dispatcher at the time of the incident. This was actually my first Mass Casualty Incident. We ended up using 11 ambulances, 3 fire engines and 3 department cars from 5 towns and 2 private companies. Anyone who's interested in this whole story, the local tv station had a good video:
so anyway, I might as well turn this into a topic. Has anyone been involved in a car crash, a boating accident, a planecraft malfunction... even snowmobile crashes count. What about witness to any?
Hope no one was hurt, but share your stories anyway ^__^ _________________ GTX: Great Teacher Xeno... my daily blog about teaching in an elementary and middle school in Japan (see right-menu)

Freshman year three years ago. Trip to Vietnam. While on a tour bus, we saw a truck had been in an accident and was on its side. You know what it was carrying?

I haven't been in a accident myself, but my dad has, quite scary though...it was about 11:30 midnightish during a weekend and dad called mum saying he was in a car crash. Although he called us himself, it still scared the crap outta mum, me and brother.
Apparently what happened was he was coming home from work on the motorway, he noticed a whole bunch of young drivers were racing along the motorway and they sideswiped him and he crashed into the railings... although dad came home completely unharmedt the car was declared total lost. So I have no idea how bad the car had crashed, but to be declared total lost ...hmmm _________________ Get ready to vote for who you think is the Sexiest Anime Character!!

hmm... motor vehicle accidents? i've been in a few minor ones, and even caused one very very minor tho, prolly stuff that everyone has done at one point or another... i scraped a parked car a bit.
my mum's been in a relatively serious car accident, she fell asleep by the wheel and drove the car into the... er. dyke? is that the word?
she wasn't hurt seriously tho, just a couple bruises... the car was worse off. windshield was more or less shattered and the car roof looked like someone had fired a shotgun at it from within the car.
one of my friends was ran over by a car once too. miraculously, he wasn't hurt at all. you could see the tire marks goin across his chest, but he wasn't hurt at all. i think. we were drunk, it probably hurt alot more the next day, lol.
my older brother had a friend too... one of his closest i think. i knew him pretty well too. he was killed in a car accident. there'd been this sorta freak snowstorm in the middle of april (where i live, pretty much all the snow is gone in the middle of feb. april is like spring.) and all the roads where slippery. plus, everyone had already removed the winter wheels off of their cars, right? (in sweden, unless there is reason to, you're forbidden by law to use winter wheels with steel... thingies past 31st march.) so it was extra bad. anyway, he was on his way to work when a car in the opposing lane lost control... it was a frontal crash. they said he died instantly. that was 4 or 5 years ago.
personally, i don't like travelling by car that much... i prefer bicycles and trains ^_^

to each his own i guess, i myself havent been in any accadents, but thats mostly cuz i dont drive myself, (even though i can) i let others drive me, mostly cuz im lazy, but if they get in a accadent its not my insureance/parents that kill me _________________ Who said the dead wouldnt rise again?!?
Hmm...I've only been in a car accident once with my mom and my sister. It was winter and when we were slowing down to stop at a stop sign, we hit a patch of ice and slid out onto the road, and this road was fairly busy...
There was a car coming at us and since it was winter, the other person wasn't able to stop their car fast enough and ended up slamming against the side of the car (I was in the back seat at the time...and it slammed up against my side, as well as my mom's). So that certianly scared me half to death.
Luckily none of us got hurt though....just seriously freaked....(and that's why I dislike driving, especially in the winter...public transportation or bumming rides from others all the way!)

A month or so ago I was driving home from school. Back then I had to use their computers for high speed access haha. I was taking an online test for my defensive course and I took one of them, but alas I had to wait an hour inbetween every section of the test. It was already like 9 pm so I said the hell with this and just left.
I ran to the car, got in and started driving back home. It was raining at the time, so I took extra care with my speed. Well basically I saw some lady get on the freeway, and try to cross the entire thing at once. She ran into a old Suburban, which I was behind. She hit that suburban, and he stopped. First I hit the brakes, but I didnt slow down. So I tried to turn to the left, but it didnt respond. In either case, I hit the suburban pretty hard. My car was pretty much totaled.
Everyone was okay however. My insurance company is being sued so the minute I screw up again my policy is getting canceled. I still think about it a lot. I dont drive very much anymore because I dont have a car, but when I do I get freaked out very easily. I drive barely the speed limit and not as fast as I want anymore. I kept thinking about it and I realized that If I had done any one thing differently that day I would have avoided the entire thing. If I had walked to the car instead of ran, If I had spent 2 seconds more adjusting the volume on the radio, anything at all. If I had stopped just to rest when I was tired. Or if I had not been lazy during the day and watched the entire video all the way through. It still drives me crazy. For about two weeks after the accident I dram about car accidents. _________________ Miku Miku!!

I just wanna be your light.
I've only been in two car accidents. In one I ran over a guys foot while looking for parking space near my college one day. Had to drive the guy to the clinic and pay for his treatment (most of it was my fault, but in my defense he WAS jaywalking and I was fresh out of driving school), but luckily it wasn't serious and he was OK.
The other one I wasn't driving. It was a family trip to some hot springs, all four of us (mom, dad, brother an I) were going in my dad's SUV. I was sitting in the rear right seat, just admiring the view through the window and resting my head on my right fist.
Suddenly, after coming out of a curve, the front wheel axis of the car snapped in two (unknown cause), and my dad lost control of the car. The car spun towards the left side, made a 180-degree turn and smashed the right side (my side) against a rock wall. Luckily we didn't turn right, because then we would have tumbled down a small cliff, and at that speed it wouldn't have been pretty. The moment the axis snapped I didn't know what had happened, only that the car was moving wrong, so I moved my head off my fist to see out the front windshield what was going on. The moment we hit the wall the momentum of the car slammed my head against my fist and made me puch myself in the jaw... probably the strongest puch I've ever taken. It left me disoriented for a moment. Luckily aside from that everyone was fine.
We were far from any town, and there was no cellphone signal, so we waited for a while for another car to come by and my mom had to hitch a ride with some people back to town to get a towtruck. After that we had the car fixed and, after a few months, we made the trip again, this time without incidents. *phew*. _________________

hmmm... i haven't been in any car accident recently.. last one i could remember was when i was in grade 3... there was this "T" intesection that we had to go through for my service vehicle to get to one other passenger before we head out home from school... as we went through the intersection suddenly there was a big crash on the driver's side... windows smashed up and the impact was enough to make the whole van skid to the passenger side by a few feet... when the dust settled and i finally calmed down some of the other kiddies... what hit us was a moped... with two passengers... the driver side door of the van was obliterated... apparently they were going fast.. and had no time to stop or i think they think they can wing it and drift to avoid us.. well in any case something didn't work and they crashed head on into our van.. so yeah.. the moped was a heap of junk then and there... and the two passengers on the moped were erm... bloodied... well i think they were able to stand up... we got to the police station and reported it and such... gaaah.. took us like 4 hours to clear the whole thing up and i finaly got home.. a supposed 10 minute drive stretched to 4 hours.. i was fuming.. _________________

o my lord! there was this one school bus accident last year and someone had broken their collar bone! and about 7 were hospitalized i was like omg holy cow lol good thing iwasnt on that bus. i wonder if the school or anything got sued
Yikes, that must be a horrible thing for a 14-year-old to see. I have had the luck and grace to have only been in 1 acident. And I can't even remember this one. I was around 2 at the time and with my mom and dad. No one was injured so it wasn't so bad. Someone above must really like me (if you believe that kind of thing).
Probly everyone has been in one. Either it is you as a passenger, the person driving the car or the God damn other car. I've had too many and none of it relating me driving. I am making a thread about this. Tonight a kind of snowy night while my mom is driving me to an appointment a stupid car infornt of us lose contral and slide with the side of that car facing us. My mom stepped on the brakes and not soon after a F****** cap driver hits us. WTF. I got out of the car right away and told the asshole to pull over. He pulled over. I was going to get the car infront of us to pull over too. But he took off. Co-- sucker. Lucky bastard.
What I know about Cap drivers is that they go slow as hell but this piece of shit guy didn't brake like he should. I took down his phone number, name, cap company and phone service and licence plate. Asshole. This isn't the first time my mom got in an accident and I think this time if we report her insurance will go up. Even if it wasn't our fault. I think that information is right. I don't know all this crap about insurance.
