A-S Ayakashi Ayashi Synopsis & Info.

Done by BONES studio, just that fact would be enough reason for people to check out this series.
The animation is top notch, character designs are very anti-fanboy (lack of moe). Pretty unusual and unique in my opinion. The lack of pretty girls and too many naked men in episode 1 might have put off lot of people off this series.
I think it was a bold move for them to not rely on sex apeal for this show. Who has heard of girl dressing up as a samurai actually having top shaven samurai hair style? Though from the episode 3 preview, she looks pretty cute when she's not dressed as a man. I hope Yukiatsu can convince her to stop dressing up as a man.

One of the things I liked is the opening song, it's one of those that you hear it once and immediately like it. The song has very refreshing feel to it, lot like what this series is doing. I feel that too many anime are following the formula and plays safe by using overused themes and character archetypes.

I also checked this show out based on the fact that it's done by BONES studio (the geniuses behind Eureka 7 and Ouran High School Host Club).

Animation is top-notch (sasuga BONES ^_^), the youi look great. Character designs aren't particularly worth noting IMO, to be honest I felt they were a little bland and I didn't really take notice of the music.

The first ep started off quite promisingly but I started to get bored after about 15 minutes. There was one point where I wasn't sure if the main character was talking to us (the audience) or to the old dude on the bridge.

me thinks he has an imaginary friend... the old guy seems to disappear and reappear at odd places

I really liked that dancing scene by that girl with fan. Now why can't she just walk around in that miko outfit instead of that ugly samurai getup.

Hmm..

I am at episode 5... will write a review soon... I picked up the series for STUDD... I am not sure how I feel about the anime so far.... still looks weak to me.

No villan is introduced so far at episode 4. I hope they come up with a good story.

Alright, posted a review after episode 7... man why couldnt they continue that theme of his past.... oh well... episodes 5-7 were good but i dont know if the rest will be as good. The only way this anime can redeem itself in my eyes from going down to a 7 is for someone important to die.

Episode 25 (final) sub came out today.
This was pretty damn great series, I don't understand why it hasn't received much attention. The end was sort of anticlimactic compared to previous events (dragon battles... too awesome to describe).
When the final episode of a series makes you wish there were more episodes, it's a winner in my book.

If you want a series with lots of action and great animation quality, this is definitely the series for you. Studio Bones outdid themselves again this time.
