There are alot of recommendations, but it's mostly a list of mainstream series. What do you think is a good watch that is quite underrated?
My list:
1. Princess Tutu
probably not looked at because of its name, but don't be fooled! Behind the frilly, girly name is a ominous and mysterious theme. You would expect fuzzy bears dancing around, but not here. Philosophical thought can be provoked from this. I don't know if I should label this as satire.
2. Super Gals! Kotobuki Ran
not popular because first of all, it's liscensing wasn't really announced, and I'm sure that alot of fansubbers were hesitant to sub this series because of the harsh 'slang' they use. It's hard to translate it to terms to understand, and then translating it to english? tough stuff. I really like this eccentric series, it has cute romance, and energetic comedy. I like the colours used, clothes, and character design.
3. Rizelmine
alot of people are turned off by 12-year-old and another young guy going through sexual themes. But the result is pure comedy! Satirical comedy. Rizelmine can really bring out as hard laughs or tear jerking moments, that's variety in emotions
4. Spiral
this was not liked by many because of the ending and unanswered question. I have no logical reason to why I liked this - I just did. I found Spiral quite entertaining and I looked forward to every episode. Just don't look forward to the end, unless you want it to end...
5. Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne
I love the characters and romance developed, it could only be described as one word: cute. I'm not sure why this isn't very popular, possibly because shoujo in general is not popular.
6. Gravitation
warning to the guys out there, since this is yaoi. That's probably another reason why this isn't popular, half of the audience is not interested in guy-guy love. I found gravation very, hmm intriguing? I found this series more romantic than most series, actually all of the series I've watched. Such heart-throbbing romance!
7. Hana Yori Dango
the manga is much better but the anime series is enjoyable. This has cute comedy which makes me laugh all the time. It's humour through someone's personality and their reaction really. It's quite dramatic since it could be labelled as a soap opera. This is quite 'old school' so people are hesitant to watch it
8. Angelic Layer
most people think it's focued on a younger audience, but I think it can be watched by many people with various tastes. I heard someone relating this to "Pokemon", I guess that's why it turned people off.
9. Pita-ten or Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar
a super duper cute series, "mystical" is what I think of when refering to these series. Snce this looks quite childish it's not watched by many. It's awfully cute and inspiring though
10. Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu Koto
great effects, animation, character design. The story is a bit slow and bland which can turn some people off. Probably not popular because it's labelled as shoujo I believe.
This was quite hard to do since my true anime recommendations is already pretty "rare" such as Fruits Basket, Kodomo no Omocha and the like. I don't like much mainstream things because it's usually overrated, perhaps...
I saw a couple episodes of Gravitation on Anime Network's on-demand channel, so I am guessing that it is licensed. Unfortunately they only have 2 episodes up, I'd like to see more.
One movie I saw not too long ago that's pretty rare from what I gather (although I think it might be too short to actually be considered a movie at about 45min) was
Twilight of the Dark Master
It's pretty dark and violent, although I found it beautifully done. I'll just post the back of the box since it's so much better at explaining the plot than I am.
Since the beginning of time, monstrous demons and noble guardians have battled for earth - the everlasting gift of the one great mother, creator of all life. A deep hatred burns between demon and guardian; the guardians prevented the demons from destroying humanity and the world itself.
Eons later, Neo-Shinjuku City: few demons or guardians remain to continue their epic war. Humans rule earth, with no real memory of either demons or guardians. Yet deep within the dark underworld of the city, one supreme demon is alive and plotting to subjugate mankind. Only one guardian is left to do battle, and the fate of the human race is at stake.
On a side note: this was done off a manga titled "Twilight of the Dark Master" or "Shihaisha no Tasogare" by Saki Okuse, I have searched the internet for many hours fruitlessly. If anyone happens to know about it or anything could ya let me know? ^.^
but most of the anime u wrote about never seen or heard about them except for Spiral and Gravitation maybe... wanted to dwl them but but A-E took them of i think... but prolly gonna dwl them of boxtorrents sometime...

1. Princess Tutu
Never seen one, so no comment
2. Super Gals! Kotobuki Ran
Never seen one, so no comment
3. Rizelmine
Never seen one, so no comment
4. Spiral -Bonds Of Inference-
Very good anime because it takes a completely different approach of detective/mystery genre. Quite a good animation, but with quite a cliffhanging ending. I recommend this one for detective genre fans.
5. Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne
Never seen one, so no comment
6. Gravitation
Never seen one, so no comment
7. Hana Yori Dango
Quite good, but I don't really favour it due to the fact that I've read the manga and also have seen the real TV series of that (Meteor Garden) so not really my favorite, but it is at least worth watching once.
8. Angelic Layer
I personally love this anime because of the character design and also quite good storyline. This anime is made by CLAMP so expect a lot of artwork similat to other CLAMP works.
9. Pita Ten
What can I say except...... Shia is CUTE!!!!.... Anyways, yup, this anime is so cute that I watched it 10 times in a period of 1 month. I'm a male, but I just love cute animes. I highly recommend this anime if you like cute angels and devils.
10. Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto (Someday's Dreamers)
Well, this anime is very decent. Yup, story could be very bland, but for me, it is quite a good drama type anime.

Princess TuTu A duckling who transforms into a girl and helps the prince to find his heart.
Full of ballet dance. The funniest part is that the teacher that teaches TuTu ,the prince, the other girl(forgot the name), and the other students to dance appears to be a cat!!!!!
Super Gals! Kotobuki Ran Three girl best friends explore the adventure of becoming teenager.
It's about they help each other when in times of danger, they find love.etc. A teenager movie.
THE MOST UNDERATED anime i've ever known, its still being translated (i hope) since Nov. 2003 when it first aired. really sad, and touching story about a girl and her dreams of going to space.
one thing i have to disagree with is Spiral....that show is on the top of my list for worst anime ever. a show about a kid detective, who's brother disappeard, theres a lot of random little riddles that he solves. yet throughout the whole anime, there was not even the tiniest bit of plot progression. he finds absolutly nothing about his brother, and after watching the series, from start to finish, its as if nothing even happened in the anime at all. theres no advance whatsoever. not only was there no plot progression. the way he solves the cases throughout the series were half-assed if best.
other shows that were mentioned, are all that underated. pita ten, tiny snow fairy sugar, angelic layer, rizelmine are pretty popular
i had troubles watching princess tutu, since it was more suited for the younger female audience. the whole story linked to many different popular balliets were actually fairly interesting tho. _________________
and also Princess Tutu, simply because I had no desire to watch a show called Princess Tutu in it. I seriously believe the show's greatest flaw is the title... i always crack up when I hear "Princess Tutu".
But Princess Tutu is much more than that. When I finally watched it, it was a fairly tale in a fantasy world that almost reminded me of something Studio Ghibli would come up with talking cats and other animals. Not to mention each of the episodes had a famous composition as the theme and it works quite well. I was very impressed and you can will probably see an Anime Spotlight on Princess Tutu in the near future.

Princess Comet
A story about a prince runs away from his planet and goes to earth. Because of this, two princess are sent there to search for him. One of the princess is Princess Comet and the other one is Princess Meteor, both of them are from different planet. Their task is to bring him back to his planet and let the prince choose one of them being his wife.
The main story focuses on Comet living on Earth, encountering different things between her planet and Earth, knowing that Earth is also a good place to live. She makes friends, encounters many adventures, learns something from her mistakes. Then she meet this boy who has a dream of becoming a lifesaver in other countries. Of course there is Meteor who bugs in and annoys her, but she is also a nice girl.
Comet has a sidekick whose name is Rubberball. A round-like animal, looks like a dog, that is like the size of the hand that sleeps in the necklace of Comet. The necklace is the source of power of Comet. Rubberball feeds on love, where there is love, it will gain power. With the help of Star Power (power made by the Star Children who Comet calls on when using magic), Comet will not stop helping people.
Will she find the prince on Earth? Will the prince choose her as his wife? or Will she stay on Earth?
