Disgaea anime

A-S Makai Senki Disgaea Synopsis & Info.

This was announced back in july so I guess some of you already heard of it. They're making an anime based on the popular PS2 video game Disgaea.
There are not much details about it yet, but here's the official website.

One thing that bothers me is that character design is not done by Takehito Harada (one who originally designed them and made artworks). I really like his art style and it would have been amazing to see his beautiful art style to be animated. I guess it's hard to animate such style for anime.

first i've heard of it. is there an official date yet? i saw an 11 and a 25 so i assume it's november 25. I'm not expecting too much from this, from what i've seen, manga to anime and game to anime have completely different qualitiy (manga to anime being better and game to anime being worse).

well as a long time fan of the japanese anime i am interested to see that there mixed reactions to the show. i haven't watched the ameican version at all, all i have seen so far is the japanese version. boy, let me tell you it is extremely hilarious.

for those of you who have seen the japanese version you will know what i am talking about. Parco Folgore has to be one of the most rediculous reoccuring chars i have ever seen, but also one of the funniest. i mean, you can't help but laugh at him and kanchome.

all i have to say there is Boing Boing *doing arm movements*

i have actually got people where when ever i do the arm movements that they just start laughing. what's even funnier was that i was out with my japanese buddies at a snack club (if you want to know what that is the pm me) and they actually had me sing the song to a bunch of girls hahahahhaha. if you have never heard the japanese version of the song then go dl the ep using BT and check it out. then you will know that insanity and hilarity that is Konjiki no Gash Bell (Zatch Bell for those of you who watch the American version :p).

I just downloaded the 5 minute trailer for this when the torrent was released yesterday. I have to say that I am really, really torn.

One the one hand...it's Disgaea, and it looks like it's going to be following the game plot almost exactly. The voice actors are also the same as in the original game. These are good things.

On the other hand, the animation is poor. Really, REALLY poor. It looks like it's gone the Final Fantasy Unlimited method of dealing with a low budget - that is, trying to cover up for the crappiness with flashy/glowy CG effects...and the results are about as successful. The difference in character design is mildly offputting, but Laharl's the only one that I hadn't got used to by the time the trailer had ended.

In the end, I know I'm going to end up downloading it simply because it is Disgaea, even if the quality is apalling (and by admitting that, I feel liked I've humiliated myself at the foot of the capitalist altar). What's worse, I got all excited about the prospect of a Disgaea anime when I first heard of it, and all my Disgaea-playing friends got hyped up on it because of me. Now already one of them has seen the trailer and been thoroughly disappointed, and I get the feeling they're going to eventually be after my blood...

I think I'll go off into a corner and sob now.

i look at the promo on a website, but i prefer(like a lot of game/anime conversions before) the game, maybe cuz the producers (i hope this is not the case) always change the history...

Since there are like 8 different endings, I presume you mean the standard "Good" one.
