Anime-Source Synopsis and Reviews
Nine weeks into the anime and I haven't seen a thread for it so I'll start one now. Anyways, it's an anime involving music; classical music at that. Therefore, I'm inclined to watch. The animation of the actual music playing isn't up to par compared to say Haruhi's ENOZ performance, but the anime does put in a decent effort when animating the characters and their instruments so far.
I just wanted to see who else out there decided to give this series a chance. Fans of ~Crescent Love~ (which is ending in three or four weeks, mind you) will probably be interested in the story. It has the same feel to it. Unfortunately, there's not many sub groups paying attention to this series. Strawberry Mint Subs has worked on 3 of the 9 episodes so far.
Series Progress: Only one episode. Watching episode 2 right now... |

I'm also watching it (:
Thus far, I like it because of its shoujo-girlyness and its art. I love the sparkly effects et cetera. Not too attracted to the character design, they're pretty, but not quite appealing.
Music is good, nice-smooth classical music feel.
I think I can predict where this series will go in terms of romance, but in terms of the music-genre, who knows? |

I just picked up this show recently. Have watched the first 4 episodes now. Am really enjoying it. Though I admit, so far I think the first EP. was the best.
I loved her reaction to seeing the fairy, and then being told she is going to be a part of the concourse. Thought the "challenge" was a little overdone though.
Am I alone in thinking the girl who is the accompanist is going to stand her up? |

Definitely not, I think they used some foreshadowing, etc to have a general idea that she's not an 'ally'.
And I do agree that the first episode was quite enjoyable. Nice anime, I'm glad someone picked it up (: |

While I think your right on the foreshadowing, with regards to the girl not being an ally. The main reason I think that she will fall out, is to put her friend in as an accompanist.
I don't really have any idea how the show is going to go, I haven't bothered to get the raws, but my thinking is that she is going to, at the last minute need an accompanist, and he will end up doing it. Whether its because the girl is part of that group in the music school that hates her, or if its because of an accident, I just get the feeling that he will be the one she uses. |

Five episodes later...
Primo Passo is androgeny at its finest. Yunoki and Lili are proof positive enough for that. As for the music, the classical stuff is great. I believe that's all I'm really watching it for. Whatever love story may come out of this kind of bores me. The triangle that will probably form (Hino, Tsukimori and Tsuchiura) consists of characters that really provide no spark of interest five episodes in (and Hino is the main character, no less).
I was hoping for some sort of greatness along the lines of say, Princess Tutu. I guess I was aiming too high. Good OP though. |

| No offense to anyone, but I don't really like the idea of being able to play an instrument without ever touching it beforehand. I play the violin and I think that playing an instrument isn't just about PLAYING it, its also how much effort one puts into PRACTICING. For me, I can't accept the fact that a person who never played a violin before can just touch an instrument and play as well as someone who's been practicing hard for years. |

runbo-san I understand what your saying. I too think its important that people put in effort. But I think you should watch more of it. They should hopefully touch on this subject. It would make sense that they do. And actully have somewhat, and the main character realizes this as well. Im jealous to be honest I love the violin its my favortie instrument... I wish I had loved it as much back then when we were requeired to learn an instrument.
But besides all that. I really do love this story. Its got your hints of romance along with beautiful animation. I dont think Ive seen an anime that has done such a geat job with animating instruments. _________________ “Listen, once you give up, that’s the end of the story. Just a quick comment. Up to episode 9 now, and I'm still enjoying this show.
Does anyone else ever feel like they need to smack Shimizu-kun. The way he talks just irritates me no end. He makes me feel like slapping him until he wakes up a bit. |

Just picked up this anime over the weekend, and currently up to episode 5. I have to say the pretty art, chracter designs *cough*bishies*cough* and animation ...did I mention LOTSA bishies? oh yeah what was I getting to? The prettyness attracted me, as well as the classical music theme. It's pretty good so far...
which reminds me, I gotta start getting into Nodame too. _________________ Get ready to vote for who you think is the Sexiest Anime Character!! |

I think there are 2 problems, or rather reasons why this anime hasn't grabbed a lot of people. The first is the name. I almost didn't watch it myself just because of the name. Primo passo just doesn't inspire much interest. The other reason is the slow pace of the subs. Currently the raws for up to episode 23 are available, but we haven't even broken into double digits yet.
Anyway just my opinion. I've been enjoying the show myself. |

Just watched episode 10.
After watching episode 10, my immediate thought, was that this episode would have been a lot better, if the 3 guys who locked Tsukimori in the closet had to apologize in front of the school. And, or were perhaps expelled. Showing 1 of them being caught, but not getting in any trouble was simply pathetic.
