I watch anime for the same reason I read books, write, and watch tv. Because anime is entertaining. _________________ [IMG:486:89:0419369b0b]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v20/Izeque/Nishino-sig.jpg[/img:0419369b0b]
not to stare at overly sized boobs, but to stare at cat/dog girls. i prefer normal sized boobs.
im currently taking japanese classes and i must say that anime really aided me, the verbs, nouns and adjectives that i pick up from anime help me understand wat the hell the teacher was talking about. so basic japanese was a breeze, other than writing japanese that is.
anime got their unique entertainment factor, games can make you smile when u saw something up in gears of war, but animes can make u laugh in almost every episode. thats not something games can do
lastly, i prefer watching anime characters then real life actors.
My reasons for watching anime is mostly to go to another place. In anime, the worlds are different, people are different and romace can bloom. Fighting is always in them and not in our world. Fight and get the concequence. So all in all my reason is that I want to go to a world that differs from out own.
I watch anime because most American cartoons tend to be overly simplistic and utter crap when it comes to animation. The only American cartoon that was worth anything was the Justice League, and I'm ignoring everything that came out before the year 2000.
America is better with comics then cartoons, I think we create amazing comics that are sometimes better then a lot of manga but we just can't seem to create compelling cartoons, which is why I opt to just watch anime instead. _________________ [IMG:500:115:e9a3b92989]http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a208/Viewtiful_E/AdaWongsig-Amelia.png[/img:e9a3b92989]

cause i dont really remeber y i startyed i started watching it when i was young with dragon ball z and gundam wing but ever since ive had a passion for it just the art style. the less restricitons how each is completly unique and different... and the storys i love all of them cause no 2 are ever alike.
Well, I first got into anime because a bunch of my friends would watch and talk about it. I was already a fan of DragonBall Z, but I never really considered watching anime regularly. After downloading a few series I got into it and I suppose I watch it for the entertainment value (the 'wow' factor of seeing a character kick ass) and to kill time. I've also found a lot of anime to actually be quite motivating and inspirational, so I suppose thats another big factor. Some series just really touch you and make you want to do something with your life.

I watch anime for a few differet reasons. One being that there is undeniable depth in most anime. Plot, sub-plot, photography direction, color and image balance, dialogue writing; the Japanese seem to exercise the fact that film is a form of art, and not just a money making industry.
Another would be that, in alot of anime Ive watched, Ive noticed that it requires you to get involved mentally in order to fully understand the work. And this is my pursuit in everything that I find entertaining: movies, shows, books, etc, etc. There is so much media in America that is geared towards a brain dead mass for the sole purpose of profit that I almost feel insulted by it. Take for instance your common big production action film, what else is there other than a protagonist, an antagonist, a love interest, and a whole bunch of explosions and violence.....
Im also an aspiring writer, and Im able to appreciate the excellent screen-writing that goes into some of these animes. Not only that, I choose to feed my asthetic tendencies whenever the chance pesents itself. Bottom line is that anime falls into multiple aspects of the liberal arts, and for a person with a passion for liberal arts anime can be fun, emotional at times, and educational.
