Why do you watch anime?

I watch because of the stories and the fact that anime is the only media medium that can truely convey the stories in compleatly.

it seriously makes my day.
watching anime makes me feel that my day is worth it, especially if that day is a crappy one.

and anime is way interesting than the normal cartoons that are shown on tv.

you start your day and it turns pretty crappy in a heartbeat and things stressing you out

and then you go home, pop in a series or two and voila! instant stress reliever and sunshine producer

I've loved series television ever since dragon ball z... soon after i realized that most hollywood is garbage, i started renting all the anime at blockbuster.... Akira, Ninja Scroll, X, Berserk, Grappler Baki (the ova) all were great and captivating... now that fansubs are so accessible and I've run out of other series television to watch anime is my ticket. HBO/Showtime/whatever else that does great plots throughout seasons (Cough* LOST *cough) is the exact reason I love anime. Great story arcs, every episode counts and creates a longer whole... it's more like reading a novel.... It's a good time killer.

I wish there were fansubs (that wern't on vhs) when i was a kid... i wouldn't have been stuck on dragon ball z's Freiza Saga for YEARS before it finally went on.... good times

but i do concur with you nbefort, hollywood plots are decent but not much story can go into a two hour flick compared to a full series of anime

also its a nice reminder of the early days being a kid when the first thing that comes to mind when you hear politics is popsicles, plus everyone loves a bit of nostalgia, no?
