hmmm a million bucks isn't going to change the way i treat my friends. Course if he wasn't a very good friend of mine in the beginning then i might jus do it. if he was someone close i knew from childhood, you can pay me a billion and i wun do it

Money influence me but does not controls me or corrupts me. My opinion will never change even if money was used to bribe me. I would not tell and continue my methods of Love and Peace.

Whats wrong with my answer? I'm not joking about my last post. You can't bribe me to snitch a friend.

Like Duk said, there are many factors involve and perhaps I might snitch if the situation changes for the worst such as my friend is beyond insanity and wants to kill a bunch of people. But money will never be the reason.

hmmm first off if he was my friend then im sure he isn't one to just go kill someone.. but if its an accident... well i won't tell on him... but i would sure as hell convince him to confess... il beat him up if i have to... i may be his friend but i want him to do what is right as well... if he won't take it.. then he isn't much of a friend and il beat him up nonetheless.. Very Happy

Probably the most important thing to know before turning your friend is was the murder justified? A lot of people have different Ideas about what justice is, but the simplest most rational theory of justice in my mind is punishment that fits the crime.

So if my sister gets raped, no, I wouldn't be justified to go kill the rapist. I might kill him anyway out of wrath, but it wouldn't be justice. In that case I think castration or some other equal punishment would serve as justice and killing the person would be going overboard.

so if my friend killed someone then the only justifiable reason is if he was killing a killer, not counting accidental manslaughter (there is an equal punishment for that, but it is not death.) In the justified case then, I probably would not trust the justice system and I would keep the secret.

In the unjustified case, I can't see how any of you people who said that you wouldn't tell actually consider this something a friend would do. If you let people you care about do evil without reprecusion you are only allowing them to destroy themselves. You are allowing them to be a lesser person than the rest of society, your not helping them at all, you're not being a friend. When you bring a friend to justice you are not betraying them, rather you are validating them. You are bringing them back up to your level because if justice is served then they will have paid the price and are now equal with the rest of humanity again.

figureing out what justice is and the corralating punishment can be tricky though, so it may be best to consult with others that you trust. Also, in the US, punishment by law can vary from way too lenient to extremely harsh. It may be best to leave the courts out of it and deliver the punishment yourself if you are capable.
