I do believe you've compared the two already in this thread...
I'm not passing any kind of final judgement. Just recounting my initial impressions of the drama: that it's not as good as the anime (so far). |

lol, not really. The mere comparison I did was only based upon on my disappointment on the slide show technique vs. full animation deal in Rhapsody in Blue. |

Not trying to pick a fight here, but you're contradicting yourself and saying I'm wrong when I'm not. You DID compare them. Fact.
You can call me fussy if you want. Go on. I can take it.
Anyway, I don't see a problem with comparing them at initial stages. It's not as if we don't criticise almost every single anime on these very forums, long before they finish. |

| Best show of the season, needs a bigger budget. |

lol, okay man. I did compare them, but my focus is different. I just wanted to say that the drama is worth watching, maybe just because of the Rhapsody in Blue performance (figuratively). I'm not comparing them in any other areas or in generality, thus my use of "not really" instead of "not at all."
While I'm at it, the anime is expected to be better than the drama especially when the anime has the opportunity to make improvements. That's a no brainer. Thing is, not everything is better in the anime. Anyway, that one is my 2 cents... |

Apologies if I sounded uptight. You know how much of a minefield forum posting is. Thanks for responding with good humour.
Are the anime and the drama not running concurrently then? I thought they were...
And yes, if you're a fan of J-Drama, then you'll most likely love this. I certainly wouldn't want to put anyone off watching it. It's just, as I've been brought up watching excellent British (and American) dramas, the Japanese style feels just a little too amateurish for me. There aren't quite enough positive points in it to change that.
Then again, I haven't watched the Rhapsody in Blue performance yet... |

No problem.
The drama finished airing all 11 episodes on December 25, 2006. The anime series started airing January 11th, 2007. Anddd, the DS game should be out any time soon.. for Japan lol. http://www.nodame-ds.com/asx/pv_1m.asx |

The drama only had 11 eps?
Ohhh speaking of which how long is the manga?
I just picked up this one recently, I've read the first 2 vols of and the manga and 3eps of the Live drama... and eppie 1 of the anime is pretty good. Can't go wrong with Seki Tomokazu <3 _________________ Get ready to vote for who you think is the Sexiest Anime Character!! |

Yes, the average number for Japanese drama series :T.
The manga is still ongoing. 17 volumes so far. |

Yeh, the wait is quite painful.
If i remember correctly there was about a 2 week wait for episode 10 to be released, but then 10 and 11 were released in quick succession. I guess we just have to patient and grateful |

Actually, I was rather impressed by the Rhapsody in Blue in the drama, which I finished watching after watching the episodes in the anime. I mean, just the fact that they're doing that in real life in itself is already amazing enough. Seeing them actually do it is really appealing. |

Just finished eppie 6, can't get enough for this anime. The characters are all so charming and unique. The OP and Ed are growing on me too. ^^
~ Love Seki Tomokazu sooo much... he makes Chiaki's snaps sooo funny~ _________________ Get ready to vote for who you think is the Sexiest Anime Character!! |
