I don't know how great Hardgay is as a fansub group. But I definitely enjoyed episode 12. Was very good. Looks like its building towards a climax fairly soon.

Up to eppie 11 now~ I really like how Nodame is paced, they aren't dragging things out, and the story is moving along quite steadily.

Just giving this thread a bump~ but yeah I've caught up with the latest subs at eppie 17.

Nodame wasn't her usual crazy self over Chiaki... which I found a little unsual. (And I particularly like the scene where Chiaki had was holding Nodame's hand the entire time when he awoke from his nightmare. Very Happy

) And it seems that Chiaki was there to prove his music to Nodame than the rest of the world ... Confused

And yeah I think Hard Gay subs are pretty alright ... they're releasing the eppies pretty frequent to satisfy desperate fans ^^

I prefer the Frothbite subs over the Hardgay. But they release them at such a glacial pace that the HG becomes superior simply by being released in a timely manner.

I don't really mind which subbers releases first. If I won't be archiving the series, I don't care how bad the sub quality is. As long as it helps me understand little better than watching the raw, it's fine by me. As it happens, I'm not archiving this series, I wouldn't have minded if HG was a bad group but they're alright.

the funny thing about HG fansubs is that when you open up you Nodame Cantabile folder in thumbnail preview mode, it looks...amusing...Certainly doesn't look like you're wathcing anime.

I look forward to the point where Nodame starts using her full potential as a pianist. Sure she's goofy, but i think the anime is hinting that she does have a serious side, except past circumstances may be causing her to continually goof off so that no one takes her seriously.

I love how Chiaki and Nodame balance each other out ~~

I was so happy for Chiaki when he finally boarded the plane~ and it was thanx Nodame's hypnotism Very Happy

hehe now she's got him wrapped around her finger Cool

lol. The show has just moved into a different direction as Chiaki has overcome his fear of planes and Nodame's entering a competion. I honestly can;t wait till the upcoming episodesa.

Actually my favourite subbers for Nodame would actually be C1 ... but I haven't seen their subs in a while... wonder what happened ... Confused

I assumed the series had been licensed, therefore C1 dropped it. That's usually the case when one group suddenly drops it and another suddenly picks it up... Think of Death Note, for example.

Anime-suki is still providing it, so it didn't occur to me that Nodame could already be licensed >.<

Speaking of Death Note... I gotta pick up that series again...

hardgay fansubs aren't too bad.. the only thing that could be changed is that split second image in the beginning, otherwise they do a good job with translating.

watched ep 19 last night. man this show gets better and better. i was either smiling or laughing while i was watching this.

Sure that image at the start, and plus I like the credits that Froth-bite does a bit better then the HG group. Its similar, but I just think the FB groups credits look nicer. Just a matter of preference I guess. Just glad HG is coming out with these on a regular basis. If I had to wait for FB to sub and release, I'd never get my NC fix.

Episode 19 was great btw. Definitely looking forward to the next episode.

Nodame Cantabile anime isn't licensed yet. The manga is licensed by Del Rey Manga, but I don't see any company that claimed the anime yet. They're probably working on it right now, trying to snatch the license deal. I'm gonna guess it'll be Geneon who gets the deal, they seem to license lot of J.C. Staff studio's series.

Yeah, you're right. I can't find any evidence that it's been licensed, plus C1 still have it listed as a current project on their website. It was obviously a silly assumption to make.

I'll go sit in the naughty corner...
