What are cuter, puppies or kittens? Images would go great with an arguement.
Something to help you decide:

The question grammatically correct would be "Which is cuter, the puppy or the kitten?" because you are asking for the choice separating 2 distinct things from each other; what implies having either an exact answer, like "What is cute?", or "What is the meaning of our existence?" or "What is the time?", but with Which it would be "Which meaning of our existence is correct?" (given of course an established context to apply that question, a variety of choices prepared before the particular question was asked; otherwise it would still be "What is the meaning of our existence"; because you're asking the correct existence from a pool of already established possible existences; if not another possible question would be "What is the correct meaning of our existence", meaning that an established pool of choices does not yet exist) or "Which one of you asked this question?" (given of course that you know there were people asking the question; distinguishing between them, thus the context was established).
You wouldn't use "What one of you asked the question?" because you already identified them as a group and are inquiring which singular unit (one) asked the question. However, if the answer was "All of us", The question would not have been wrong in grammar because that implies that the person asking had no knowledge that everyone had asked. If the inquirer had known that 2 or more people had asked the question, they would ask "Which ones asked that question?", once again displaying that you have isolated them into singular units.
If the person suspected that all of them asked the question, the question would be "Did all of you ask the question?". This can of course be changed in this particular scenario with "Who asked the question?", because only people can ask questions and implies that only one person asked the question (and usually when identifying them as people because which applies to objects where who applies explicitly to people), where "which one of you asked the question?" is rarely used because only people can answer questions (thus asking their names is less disrespectful and not diminutive)
There would be no instance when you would use who to identify more then one person (such as "Who did this?") because who is very direct and applies only to one individual. If the answer was "All of us", the question would still have been valid because the inquirer had no knowledge that a group had done this. If he had known that all of them had done it, the question would be rhetorical and shouldn't be asked. If the person knew that several people did it, then the question would once again be "Which of you did it?". Another possible change can be adapted to Who by replacing with Whom. "Whom among you did it?", which could mean that it ranges from one to all could have done it.
All in all, you wouldn't use "What do you like better, the kitten or the cat?", you would use "Which do you like better, the kitten or the cat?". but in this particular instance it would be "Which do you like better, the puppy or the kitten?"
I like puppies better because I think they grow more likely then not into friendly and loyal pets unlike the cat, notoriously known for their laziness.
in anycase, to display images all you need to do is insert this tag:

if you want to hyperlink an image to a site, you would use

oh wow I can't believe I ranted so much over a simple question like "Which should I use, What or Which" lol
be seeing you~ |

There I voted...but my uber long post from previously was there to answer your question...the poll question should be "Which is cuter, the puppies or kittens?
still, although I was inclined to mu that poll question, I get the main gist of it and thus...own the kittens Mer-kun |

okay for all those who saw Cats & Dogs; that was a bunch of lies!! how is it that the dogs have an agency but the cats don't?!?! in terms of combat the cats would win! cuteness has nothing to do with it; you see any dogs in china? its cause they eat them that's why (no offense) and the cats are the ones that hold dominance there. anyway i vote for cats _________________ ALL HAIL LELOUCH

Duk- That only depends on the owner on how they raise their pets.
Dogs- Fun and loving. Very playful. You can take them out and it'll attract the attentions of girls.
Cats- Lazy, yet in a cute way.
Sorry but I refuse to choose as they are all cute in many ways. _________________

dogs look up to us...
cats look DOWN on us...
pigs consider us equals..
for me i actually like kittens... not so noisy... and they seem more sophisticated..
though they do tend to give me more scratches than a puppy... _________________

Apparently, this was in the newspaper the other day, if you own a dog you're likely to live longer than a person who owns a cat.
I believe it has something to do with stress |
