HAHAHAHA, that's a new one to me  .
as it appears most people here would agree, i don't mind when people have a legitimate reason for disliking a show. but flat out bashing a show that i honestly enjoyed can get me pretty riled up sometimes, as i'm really easy to anger in person. but not being able to speak my mind very well on the spot, i usually just keep to myself and glare at them or ignore them for the rest of the conversation.

Needless to say, I generally like arguing, sometimes for no reason especially when I'm bored. What I hate are people that use personal insults, are ignorant (don't realize you've countered their point 4 or 5 times already), grammar nazi's or are simply stupid. |

I completely agree. Scholarly debate (especially when both parties are calm, intelligent, and have a mentality to argue with no personal insults) is fun and engaging

only in rare cases do i get defensive, and only when its a good reason. IE~ i get defensive over School Rumble, b/c they think its just romance or girly... when its just plain fun.
i will also fight you when it comes to GetBackers, Slayers, and Excel Saga.

i wont defend many anime in particular
however there is one person i will defend that is one of the greatest anime artist i have ever seen
Yoshitoshi ABe
His style for Serial Experiments Lain got me into anime
im not saying i dont like others
but his style is just flat out pretty
so far ive never had to defend it |

| theres very few mangas or animes id get defensive over but when i do it gets kind of ugly this one time a dude said elfen lied sucked so after a hour of reasoning with him i puched him in the mouth and now he loves elfin lied |

Well, I simply don't know enough people in my real world who know about Anime to get into any scraps, and that's why I come to this site.
I do feel defensive when I hear about the not-so-good parts of my favorite Animes. The inappropriate sex parts in Elfen Lied, Please Twins, and the Ninja Scroll movie I can do without myself, and I feel like I have to defend the parts I really like about these series when there are complaints about this aspect. The Evangelion ending too makes me want to bring up the great Eva battles to offset the ending's downer effect. Otherwise, I'm cool with the different strokes for different folks thing. |

Well, i really dont se the point here, i get defensive when someone is retarded and says something bad about the anime i like, without having specific arguments about what parts they disliked...
but to dislike the anime i like, someone must be retarded
therefore my conclusion is everyone that doesnt like the anime i like is retarded and i will get defensive and they will hear it if they are retarded enough to say something bad about it. |

| I can be defensive about an anime i love. It is usualy only when a person is just bad mouthing it like a poor step child that you just have to beat. If I ran into a individual who said an anime sucked because lack of action or something not looking at anything else, just being an absolute turd Ill get mad. Now im now saying we can just joke around and make genral remarks or comments. Yet when someone seriously puts down an anime with no grounds to speak of. Well im going to kick there ass |
