Gosh I am getting sick of it... downloaded a bunch of things and occasionally get the usual cant play it cause it's missing digital media rights.
I should have never upgraded to that window media player 11... anyone know of ways around this microsoft insanity? |

Erm... drop WMP and use Media Player Classic instead? So far I've found MPC to be more reliable (if less stylish) than WMP. I still play my AVIs on WMP out of a feeling of nostalgia, but I do recognize that MPC is better once you learn how to use it properly. It doesn't look like much, but it's got it where it counts.
If you still want to use WMP maybe there is a "downgrade" option available... somewhere. maybe at the microsoft website.
Since your issue is rather technical in nature:

You can rollback to your previous version if you chose to backup the files, just go to Control Panel\Add Remove Program and check.
There are many good players out there, Media Player Classic is one of them. If you want all codecs in one, i recommend GOM Player which is better than VLC.

One application : WinAmp
That said. I've used WMP 11 for a few months and never had that problem just deactivate the option Check in the "Security" and "Privacy" options. |

Hmm.. I gotta try deactivating see how it reacts.
I tried WinAmp... sorta had similar issues.. it seems that they are based on window media player (at least that's what i sensed..) Maybe the problem is in the files themselves. |
