actually when it comes to pace Bleach is much better, it can be consistent at 3 to 2.5 manga chapters per episode thats why you get the sense that something occurred during the episode (too bad they had to tone it down so much from the manga)..

for this reason Bleach is now very close to the manga right now while Naruto is off by around 90 chapters..

Ok, I don't get it:

Sasuke's blade is special since you can't guard against it (you basically can't block a swing) and as we saw it cut through the metal knife. But a few seconds later it was basically parried away by a piece of wood?

Eh so is the series going to fillers or continue the actual story?? The opening theme scenes and the end of episode 54 is really confusing...

since this filler arc is happening in conjunction with Naruto's training it probably won't take more than 5 to 7 episodes, latest episode was not a filler..

I'm boycotting Naruto! This is pi$$ing me off! The entire last half of the original Naruto was filled with fillers. I want to see the last Akutsuki member die before I die! At the rate law makers are cracking down on our liberties, they might eventually start setting rules against file sharing and force us to buy all the episodes. If that happens, I'll have to stop watching anime because I'm not taking the risk of buying ten str8 episodes of fillers. OMG! How can I write the creators of Naruto and tell them that the fillers aren't helping and that if they would just crank out the episodes and get us up to par with the manga, that would bring alot more fan base. Instead of making us promoters, its really turning me into a detractor!

I'm pretty sure they're on filler now with this double episode. Don't think I'll watch this show anymore until they get back off it. It's not like they were catching up to the manga or anything. Just fucking terrible.

I actually like these fillers because they staying close to what happens in the manga. For example. I could be wrong but in the latest episode of naruto 57-58 they give you a backdrop of info concerning the temple that will get attack by Hidan and Kakuzu. I think its the same temple in the manga am a little rusty to what happens next. I don't remember in the manga if they explain the main monk and his past or about the 12 guardian ninjas that he was part of with Asuma. The only thing random about these episodes is the new villains they introduce that is obvious after those tombs unless they are the other 6 guardian ninjas that started to rebel for their own reasons. Plus they still have naruto training for his new jutsu. I know how ppls hate fillers and I myself do but I just hate random episodes that have nothing to do with progression in the series or no way close to the magna. I say these fillers aren't as bad compare to the past ones.
I hope after this mission the series will get back on track if not then I probably watch something else for awhile too lol.

Has anyone watched the new naruto yet? I'm afraid to taint myself by watching it only to find out it's just more terrible filler.

Contrary to what everyone says, not all the Naruto fillers are bad.

This current filler should prove interesting, and just like beserkerX said, it's providing background on what happens a little later in the manga. It makes really... instead of just showing up at some random place not knowing what the story behind the actions are...
