Newbie here

Hi people, I'm new here as you probably gathered from the title. I've only recently got into the whole manga/anime scene as well.

I came across this site when someone recommended it to me for the 'Ichi the killer' manga available here. I'd just seen the movie you see, and although slightly disturbing, at the same time its strangely compelling. The manga I've been told is even more weird Laughing

. So up until a couple of weeks ago I was reading the manga and then suddenly the lvl of entry shot up Crying or Very sad

So I've instead read another hosted manga on here for the time being- Pretty Face. It was the first on the list and I checked it out. And I'll admit I had some very big doubts if I'd like it. It seemed at first glance a bit weird and girly for my tastes (no offense to any gals here). But its seems looks can be deceiving, and I've really enjoyed it, one of the funniest things I've ever read.

So at this moment in time, I've read/watched the following:

Anime- Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Porco Rosso, Akira and some Bleach.

Manga- Pretty Face and some Ichi the Killer.

Any recomendations are welcome Smile

First off - could you tell us your age and sex (people here are very touchy about that sort of thing) Doesn't matter if you do not wish to reveal anything.

Right. I am the loner. Not much more that can be said about that.

I wouldn't really know much about the manga on this site; I personally have only read Ichigo 100% and one chapter of Elfin Lied. I could recommend manga thats not hosted on the site but as I don't know whether you're a gal or guy..... Fullmetal Alchemist is a great manga - a few other sites host it or you could download it directly from ZOMGFTA.

As for anime, if you liked Akira (and understood it) Ghost in the Shell is a must-see. I'm sure others will agree with me.

Thanks for the friendly welcome guys, I'll definitely take into account the recommendations you've mentioned. In particular I've noticed Death Note seems to be prominent amongst them, I'll probably check this one out first as I funnily enough I've recently seen the live action movie and enjoyed it immensely. Very Happy

- it would definitely take me a while to read through that many posts, I have a feeling though its not a topic that requires much back reading Laughing
