For the longest time now no new episodes of many anime series have been subbed. Series like Tokimeki Memorial ~ Only Love, Tonagura!, Summomo, Hitman Reborn, and various others haven't had new episodes in a while. I don't know if the fansubbers got tired of subbing the series, or if the series isn't as popular anymore, but it kinda sucks when you actually watch these series and then all of a sudden nothing new for the next month. Yeah, there are a lot of good series out right now like D-Grayman and Death Note that are being subbed, but there aren't that many comedies, romantic comedies, or dramadies (as i call it, more drama than comedy), other than Kanon.
But anyways, I guess its just me ranting, but I was just curious about what happened to these series. I wish I understood Japanese, than I wouldn't be in this mess, but oh well. Feel free to comment or whatever, or express concerns if you had the same thoughts. Oh, and one more thing, I know that many of these series are still running, because most of those series are already in the 18+ in RAW format, so I was just curious. Not trying to be picky, but... yeah.

ummm.. you don't need to write that. People are always free to respond to anything here
anyway, regarding the topic... there is always a myriad of reason for why fansub episodes are delayed. Money and time (especially around college mid-terms and finals since fansubbers are mostly college kids... also other projects since many teams do multiple series) are usually the big culprits.
Tokimeki, for example... according to Ryoumi's website, it looks like they have a lot of series on their hands right now. They are currently releasing episodes, but Tokimeki isn't a priority for them at this time. Fansub episodes always take at least a week since they need to actually air before the raw is available. Considering that it's only been 4 weeks since the last Tokimeki episode, I wouldn't say we're at critical meltdown point. I'm sure it's the same with others.
If all else fails... buy the DVD when it comes out... fansubs are a privilege, not a right (not necessarily aimed at you, but people in general who seem to think that way) -______- _________________ GTX: Great Teacher Xeno... my daily blog about teaching in an elementary and middle school in Japan (see right-menu)

1000% (yes count'em, 4 zeros) agreed with xeno. its for fun that the subbers do it, and maybe for the recognition as the best kinda thing.
i always try to donate monies via paypal to help these poor folks; its my way of giving back.
a lot of the times, though, i get frustrated b/c my favorite subbers drop series b/c of legal reasons( ie. Lunar w/ Bleach, Wannabe w/ SR, etc)
hey if there aren't any good new ones, there's a lot of old ones you can watch that you wanted to catch up on. (im watching Kenshin for the first time now, and i wonder how i ever missed it). Millions of series out there, not just the new ones. _________________ Shepherd the lost sheep

Don't be greedy man just wait a while these grace periods are what makes the show more enjoyable. If they give you all the episodes at the same time then it would be just like playing a game too long it just gets boring sometimes. So you put down the game for a week or two do something during that time and when you get bored with that, pick up the controller and start playing again you find thats its suddenly fun again.

man bigguy, it looks like everyone's reprimanding you. well don't worry i won't say anything like that even if they do have a point. Instead i will not say that specifically cause i know the frustration you go through like when i was waiting for episode 17 of Code Geass to come out; it usually comes out thursdays so i came home from school and eagerly went to their site (gg subs) and... i find no link. While that's a bummer, the episode seemed so much better when i finally saw it. that's basically my input

Well my bad for sounding greedy or anything, I was just merely curious, and besides how is greedy to wonder what happened to a few series. I wasn't trying to make everyone flame me, but its all good, I don't mind, its your opinion. I just hope that these series will actually continue some time in the future so I/we can finish watching some of these great series.

oh they will, it's just gonna take some time to do it cause they are mostly college dudes with nothing more to do plus the actual timing and subbing takes time as well _________________ ALL HAIL LELOUCH

I don't think anyone was flaming you. If that's what you thought, then I'm sorry it came off that way. I was just explaining to you how fansubbing works and that it's pointless to expect there to be a schedule. I'm sure the others' can echo my sentiments _________________ GTX: Great Teacher Xeno... my daily blog about teaching in an elementary and middle school in Japan (see right-menu)

how many episodes are there from bleach? just asking because i have 25 episodes that are all subbed.
So far, 116 and still going.
Here's a possible answer to why subbers stop subbing; maybe its because the subway nearby closed down *hangs head in shame* Sorry. Terrible joke, won't happen again.
Seriously, maybe they just died in a freak accident (?) _________________
