Ive been watching some anime recently, and I noticed a lot of them had the forced relationships in them, such as where the girl needs the main character so much that he must spend all his time with her or something bad will happen. For example, in Kanon,
He had to spend days with the girl who was the fox from his childhood.
and Green Green, where their was the destined girl for him. (I know how it ends though). I dont know, just for me, it makes all the other girls feel out of place. You all know what Im talking about, their is the one girl who the guy chooses simply because she is the one who demanded him the most, or whatever. I always feel abd for the other girls, who are sometimes much better than the chosen girl, such as
Siesta in Zero no Tsukaima, she is a much better person than Louise, but because the guy has to spend all his time with Louise, Siesta is kinda left out. Except for the bath
Just curious on your thoughts/opininons about situations like these. _________________ I am the Owner of nowhere land

Well....
I haven really seen much forced couples in the anime world, but as my sister watched a lot of Korean drama, I've seen a lot of shows where the coupls happens to be married, somehow forced... then in the end they end up liking each other and stuff....
I think there are very few animes that potray any kind of realistic romance. Rec comes to mind as one of the few that was portrayed a slightly realistic romance. (aside from an absurd coincidence in the beginning that got the ball rolling). However, most romanace animes seem really forced, just as you say. It's probably because people have an inner vainity that wishes that they too could be a part of some crazy, or simple, love story that they see on TV. Since people like these shows, they keep making them! Not like I have a problem with it though, after all, I watch my fair share of romance anime's too.
In regards to certain characters being left out, well, love triangles sell of course. But its not like they are uncommon in reality either though. Infact, Romance schemes in animes are Probably a lot simpler than realistic ones in most cases. People usually like several people before they make up their mind about who they like the most. And more often than not it seems we choose the wrong person since almost everyone goes through several relationships before settleing down for good.
My prediction for the future of zero and her familiar is that they will eventually become serious and then after a child is born they will end up fighting, go to court over a DV, and then separate. Then the familiar dude will remember how nice that maid siesta was and will go looking for her only to find out she has long since been happily married and wants nothing to do with him anymore.
Zero the familiar guy both end up miserable for a few years until they learn to be civil with eathother. They never rekindle the brief youthful times of romance they once had. The end. ha ha.

*Starts singing Full House theme song* ~twirls~
at the top of my head I think of NANA for forced relationships...only purely because of all the drama and angst in the anime. I haven't been watching anything else lately _________________ Get ready to vote for who you think is the Sexiest Anime Character!!

Yah, im a sucker for the romance anime, they are always hilarious and/or have the best story.
But I guess Im talking about anime where the guy has a group of girls who like him, and for about 1/2 of the series, hes open and their all trying for him, but then 1/2 way through a lot of times a girl will get sick, or depressed, and the girl will end up stealing the guys heart because he spends all his time with her. In the anime Shuffle!, their was the group of girls, and never did their become a loveline until the very end, and then she got sick, but before then he had already chosen her. Same thing Da Capo, where he chose the girl, and then she got sick. Im fine with those, just I feel bad for the other girls when it goes girl gets sick, then he chooses her.
Like Kanon, where he chooses Makoto because she is sick, even though she doesnt stay alive, he did marry her.
I guess I just rant about the fact that all the girls that get left out, sometimes seem like they were a much better person. But I guess thats love, your the passenger, not the driver, it takes you where it wants to go.
Hmmm, I felt pretty wise with that ending.
Man im good. lol _________________ I am the Owner of nowhere land

Lol, sometimes life just aint fair. But it's the effort we made to make things equal that makes life worth it right?
But the fact is if we already know the person for us, we would go to the person even if we're seperated for a long time... We're not looking at a really beautiful relationship if the protagonist just chooses a person who stayed together for a long time..
Kimmie> lol coincidently i just finished that series... full house ^.^
tsk.. i havnt seen any forced couples... but if i see one ill edit this %^^ _________________ [IMG:320:99:34b670fdaf]http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a206/traziemykel/My%20Sigs%20and%20ava/mykelwanksta14.jpg[/img:34b670fdaf]
