| I'm as confused as I am interested. It's a big gamble. I was confused when Nintendo revealed it's controller, and now I'm a believer in what it can do. I'm pretty sure once it sets in, I won't really care what the system is called. |

As long as I get to enjoy all my favorite Nintendo games, I dont really care what the name is.
But the only problem I see is that Nintendo will have to work hard to inform everyone that the Revolution changed its name to Wii, which sounds weird. I can just imagine the looks on my classmates' faces when I tell them there is no more "Revolution." LOL |

| It doesn't really matter what the name of the system is. The Gamecube was originally the "dolphin" project if I remember correctly. Everyone knows it's called a Gamecube now regardless of the project name it had before Nintendo released its official name. The name is very practical too. The name can span across different countries and not have to be translated as Wii is relatively easy to pronounce regardless of language. |

Nintendo has officially killed the internets.... as if there wasn't enough potty jokes already lol
i think this is a good name, i mean even if people hate it, they're still talking about it, and will eventually own one. a name is a name, no need to kill yourself over it _________________ Shepherd the lost sheep

the controller was a good idea and innovative, but wii?
imagine you trying to ask your parents to get you one
you- "mom, dad can i get a wii?"
parents- "wtf?!?!?! you don't need to buy one, just go to any public restroom!"
neways....
the name may either kill it very badly or just leave it as it was before _________________ Mortified: To cause or to experience shame, humiliation, or wounded pride.

Names don't really matter when it comes to a gaming system. If someones buying system based off of names... Well... I don't really have to say anything about that now do I?
They tried to associate some meaning with the name... So that's kinda cool. But other then that I mean... Didn't anyone from western culture have something to say? Did they have any idea how much talk it would lead too? Maybe it's part of their plan.
Well... Power to the Wii-Nes! _________________ Running from your problems only wastes time... They always catch up either way. |

It's pronounced "we"
I guess it aims to focus on community play, hence the name "we." This shows that Nintendo is still the core family console on the market. I think that their approach on the name is very appropriate, although at first a bit questionable. I have got to hand it to Nintendo this time on giving the system a good name, no matter how childish it sounds at first. _________________ PM some funny pick-up lines please > |

I kinda see what you mean morty, but I'm pretty sure parents would only flip out like that when you've added the second part of wii to get 'wii wii'

Well, Wii (why is everyone bolding this?) just such a strange thing people will just have to notice it, for good or for bad. I also agree with you dracula17

People shouldn't care what its called, even if Wii happens to be the name they chose. "Hey, how wants to come over to my house, i got a Wii!" all dumb jokes aside I think that this will be a very interesting year for nintendo, hopfully for the better! |
