Episode 8 was amazing. I knew what was gonna happen cause i read the manga but i still enjoyed it none the less.
Even though Teresa died, she kicked major ass in this episode.
Anyways, i'm looking forward to being back to the main storyline. |

| Mmm...I hope the fight scenes later on get better animation. I feel sorta cheated out of something when I keep seeing rehashed things...ah well. |

This was an awsome episode, the way Tereesa died sucked I guess thats what happens when you let your guard down though .
But I have to say this is now one of my 2007 favorites. Can't wait to see if Claire will fight the awakened priscella.

Yep! totally agree! There were many still frames used in the fight scenes shown for eps 8. Whilst still very enjoyable, with todays animation its not too much to expect full animation, which would of made that eps even more exhilarating.[/quote] |

Me too, although it was
Priscilla, not Irene, that awakened. Sucks for the organisation though, losing numbers 1 through 5 just like that.

Aging:
Confirmed in volume 7, Claymores don't age, only mature.

I'm a tad bit confused with that. If they don't age, would that mean they stop physically growing once they become a Claymore? |
No, not necessarily. You can think of the usage as mortality has been lengthened (many many times) compared to an average human being. The reason that causes average human to age is because of our cells die fast and regenerating is too slow to keep up. "Not aging" is usually associated with fast cell regeneration and that's pretty much all there is to it. It doesn't mean that every regeneration, the formation keeps on one shape. There's still more room for growth. And heck, even mutation. |
Thanks thugangel
NOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo..............
They went and killed such a great character! Bring back Teresa!
*goes to huddle with Clare and cries*
Bbetween the 2 when Irene said one was far stronger then the other, which of them was the stronger one (Teresa or Prescillia?)?
Why do I feel like Priscillia cheated to win the fight? No fair! Teresa should have won!
But I guess this is what is making it such a good series. Going back to explaine Clare's past and then killing a character that appears in only a few episodes but leaves such an impression! I want more Teresa! She shall be missed.

I think you'd have to say that
Priscilla was the one with the far greater power. Otherwise Teresa would have been able to do something about her eventual demise. Then again, if Teresa had released more of her yoma power, who knows what would have happened.

Huh? I don't think you're right there IMHO
Teresa's death had nothing to do with her ability. I think after that episode it was blatantly obvious that she was WAY more powerful compared to any other claymore...just she turned off her yoma powers at the end which meant she couldnt sense priscilla's dirty move coming at her. It was careless, but nothing to do with her powers. Sure Priscilla had the most potential, but at that stage Teresa was the strongest by A LOT

Hmmm, but the so called 'dirty move' came when Teresa was facing Priscilla and she'd had no problem dodging surprise attacks up until that point. I think Priscilla became more powerful than Teresa the moment she lost control of her Yoma powers and the attack was just too quick for Teresa (even if she wasn't expecting it). Besides, Teresa doesn't need heightened yoma powers to sense the movements of other claymore/yoma, does she? She never needed to release her powers to do that before. I'm willing to admit I may be wrong, of course...

Marvelous!! This episode cough me off guard like everybody.
Sure I knew something like that was bound to happen because of the first arc . But it's the way the story twisted it that makes this episode so good.
They throw a bunch of false hope in our face that Teresa is so strong she can't be beaten and yet she died in such a cheap way you can't help but be frustrated. I already did not liked Priscilla that much in the 7 episode, now I can hate her even more .
Oh well im still mad. However in that way, this make the serie far more brilliant than i first thought.
And the pressure to go read the scan of the manga is going up even more . Altought, im forcing myself to watch the anime first . _________________ [IMG:243:100:5e55e2e7d5]http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/7108/vinlandsagasignature3oh5.png[/img:5e55e2e7d5] |

My guess is that Teressa had the bigger yoma power. I mean, she was holding her own against Priscilla who had released 70%+ of her yoma engery. While Teressa had only activated 10% or whatever the amount for only eye change.
Yeah, she got caught off guard. I'm guessing she couldn't read the Yoma energy because it was overflowing within Priscilla...
btw for those that want to pick up the manga where the anime leaves off. It's Vol 5, chapter 25. Read the last page of chapter 24 for an extra scene they left out...Unless they are going to show it in the next epi...but I doubt it.

The intro was what really stopped me from seeing this event occuring:
At the end of the intro you see an animation of Teresa and Clare clashing swords. Usually i tend to have a habit where i subconciously predict all the possible future occurences and thus i'm rarely completely suprised ...but i honestly didnt' see this one coming. I guess its good to be so complete suprised...but it couldn't be called a pleasant suprise T_T
