The story is really going to start to pick up next episode. (EP5)
Four episodes covered three volumes of manga already.
I hope they don't result to fillers.
Like going to some carnival with roller coasters.
Or a beach episode where they all play beach volleyball and eat watermelon.
And play tom toms under an eerie moon.

I'd think you'd have to hold on to the bikini bit. There is something about their bodies (frist hinted with Clare and now Theresa) that they have not told us about. Anybody want to take a guess? I was thinking scar but I think the guys who threw up, his reaction was a bit over if it's just a scar (he is a bandit, he has seen scars before... )

Ep 5:

I wathced the raw fisrt and I went, no could not be (Clare's eyes and hair is a different colour though her face features are generally the same) but after watching the release from Eclipse I'm sure they went back in time and that we are seeing little Clare.

I'm guessing that makes Theresa her mentor. Which make me wonder if they ever age? The Theresa from the OP (present?) does not look a day older then her past self.

Also the process of becoming a claymore would indicate that not only do the eyes change colur but so does the hair.

It was painful to see Clare in that state.

Overall this is a good episode. Good background info on Clare and Theresa is an interesting character.

It also looks like Theresa is the most powerful claymore.

Looking forward to the next episode.

More info on aging and "awakening" will be told in later episodes. Yeah, I'm guessing that the youma parts disfigure their bodies wherever it was inserted.You're right, Theressa is the number one Claymore during that time period.

woah, i totally didn't even realise that they were showing the past...even though it seems so obvious now.

I just assumed they were showing the story of another claymore for some reason...

In fact, how are we sure that it is the past? despite the fact that there was some girl that got picked up who was named Clare, couldn't it be that Theresa named this little girl after claymore Clare? Was there any caption that stated that this episode was about Clares past?

This episode being about Clare's past fits perfectly, but i just assumed, when Theresa as naming the girl Clare and talking about the whole naming convention thing, that she was naming the girl after claymore Clare because who is her real sister.

My views are that its REALLY the past. like it was mentioned above, and how teresa really inspired clare as a claymore and an example. AND dont forget its said that they say teresa does not NEED to activate her yoma powers to fight, that means immortality. She will not transform since she doesnt need to activate any yoma blood in her body, thus she can go on like this for ages.

WHICH is why we can see clare and teresa clashing swords in the opening, whether it might only be a decoration is another matter. I never read the manga but i'm gonna make a following statement, so i hope i dont hit any bulleye. next spoiler below:

Probably comes a time where teresa gets a card for clare to fight her, but was probably decided by the agency since maybe teresa gets too powerful for her own good.

Age: I'm guessing they can live as long as youma's. I'm assuming that they stop aging after they turn half youma.

Can't wait to see Irene and later the 24 Claymore teamup. after this story arc ends.

Well, I cheated. I went and DL and read the first 10 volumes of the manga. I'm amazed at how closely the anime follows the manga. At least so far. Some minor differences. Having cheated though, I'm really looking forward to the next few episodes.

A lot of things are going to become very clear. Like why Clare is a Claymore. How she got to be one. And of course its obvious why she has taken Raki.

Clare Age Hmm, you're right. Well, there should be a scene coming up in the next few epi's that might shed some light on this.

24 Claymores Yeah, most of them just get introduced by name and rank. Out of the 24 claymore's, I think there were 5-6 that are previously introduced during the storyline. Arg, the fight ended, but I'm left confused. I'll refrain from discussing it though XD.

Organization/Teressa I think it's more of a free will/own thought kind of deal. I don't think the organization likes their "tools" to have a mind of their own.

I don't see how they can fit all this into 26 epi's...I mean...for the whole story there are 13+ volumes to go through.

Wow Teressa's VA is Romi Paku. Man, she's in alot of things...quite busy.

Man, this manga/anime is just too good not to own. *Goes to buy the manga*
