New game IDEAs

Hi everybody! (as DrNick would say)

I'm working on a game project and I'd like to find out what kind of game you guys prefer..

It can be a mix of 2 genres.. For instance, a mix of Strategy game and RPG could be Shinning Force or a mix of Adventure and RPG could be like Zelda..

If you really can script (hopefully dark basic) than I have a brilliant idea for you and it should be a pretty easy project. In case you haven't seen it there is a spoof video for a non existant game called "cube, defender of the polyverse"

I promise you the video is worth watching, fucking hilarious. Anyway if you actually made this game it would make you famous as hell.

It would be near impossible to do it with something like RGS though, so I hope you know DB of MVS.

I prefer RPG genre, My favorite, and not to mention those MMORPGs. Then the next are first-person shooters.

though third person shooter would be nice too.

I don't know DarkBasic =( ..... but I do know how to program in C++, Java, VB, ... and I can even program a game in Javascript!! Very Happy

(it doesn't need to be fun to be called a game)

As soon as you know 1 language properly, all the other languages are somewhat easier to learn.. The only thing you need is Internet and Documentations to search for all the little differences. For instance, to lower case of all characters in a string in C#, the fct is

"String.ToLower();"

and in Java, it's:

"String.toLowerCase();"

See what I mean?? Anyway, this reply is getting boring so I'll stop here...

Might as well consider "The CUBE" thing.. it's like a "mario-cube" in 3D. It'd be fun to do, that's for sure... Smile

I prefer FPS (first person shooter) and survival horror.

But try experiment something out of the ordinary.

I remember another Genre, The Warcraft III type, RTS with a mix of RPG style... then those cinematics. Very Happy

The leveling up of selected heroes, while the same time commanding a huge force.
