i want to ask whether using bit torrent is legal or not for download anime?

i stay in australia right now and i was confused about how to download anime without violating the law in here. this is my first time in australia and i really don't know the about the internet law and regulation here?

i was previously live in Indonesia, in there download anything like anime, mp3, video clips using bit torrent is not a big problem. because the government cannot control about it and many people use bit torrent in here.

i know that using bit torrent is the easiest way to get files or data because it was shared. But getting files like that, it is said to support piracy.

i am really confused right now?
can any of you please give me some advice whether to download using anime, using bit torrent or not?

Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

i am sorry if my english is not so good.

Thanks for reading this topic.
i hope all of you can give me some good advice.

it is illegal, no question about it. It's a clear violation of international copyright law and intellectual property laws. People do it anyway because they know that they most likely won't be pursued by the cops or lawyers, so it's really a moral decision. The way I deal with it personally is I buy the official DVD of any series I "preview" when the DVD is available in my country (the USA).

Many people will come up with their own arguements as to why they're not wrong, but the bottom line is the industry cannot survive without people buying the licensed products (and not Hong Kong bootlegs either). Funny thing is... if ALL anime fans bought the DVDs, then the disks would be cheaper for everyone.

ok it is illegal no matter where they are since bt is copiying the hard work of jap artist.....

but may people still do that and as far as i know i never got catch in aussie for dling in bt

but just becareful sometimes it does

when it does they will usually give warning first
if they do that change the internet profider
or you will be sulking wanting for watching the anime

well watching in you tube also the same ooo
but since the distribution of anime in aussie is S L O W
so most of the time if you dl it before would be ok

well still illegal though ...in japan... duh
anyway just dl it since it actually illegal also in Indo.... yeah i know that place since i grow up there.....

Have any of you read the media? Anime companies love subs, they help with publicity. They just want subbers to take them down when the shows finally show up on dvd.

Battle programer shirase even had messages to subbers in it.

not ALL of them, a few have some bad notions about it, but for the most part, they don't mind since it generates good word of mouth. Of course, they don't want people downloading for free when they're trying to sell the show in your region, so yeah, once it's available on DVD, they start to crack down on internet distribution.... and downloaders should do the same.

Ah it pisses me off because when an anime becomes licensed in the US of A, everyone takes down the torrents of the anime in question when it won't be sold here in Brittania for another 2-3 years

well if YOU are wondering eternityland
then you havent read my post...
anyway yeah i live in aussie
and already dling some anime before it is closed down by american company that have license

simply to say just like in indo where it is practically free to buy pirac. product

so if you wnat to dl it is ok
as long your bandwidth allows
and of course the bt data is there

so dl away

but i don't really encourage this.. since my friend practically have all the anime out there so i just ask him....swt

but it does illegal and will be tried to track down in america...

Ha!

Up here in Canada, we can just sit on our asses and download crap.

Rolling Eyes

Apparently, we just can't UPLOAD illegal materials. If someone has already uploaded them....=)

it's cause we're the only english speaking country that counts xD. haha, i kid =P. but in general, most it's often not the subber's fault. american companies crackdown on english subs without regard to where the subs are actually coming from. i think the only way a sub group actually dodged legal action was by hosting their stuff overseas (finland, i believe).

Woah there, sparky. I always download stuff that is licensed. There is no reason for downloaders to crack down on subbers.

Essencially correct.
