Anime-Source Synopsis & Reviews

You know, after seeing the OP, I kind of want Daume studios to be working on this series again.

But, what better way to start off the season than with an onsen episode!

Hmm, yeah. Not sure why they should need to change studios so quickly... I'm hoping there won't be a major change in style because of it, but I rather suspect there will. The OP is certainly much more surreal.

as far as i know, ~okawari~ is a seperate entity altogether from the first run.

haven't seen any subs yet, but i'll probably download a raw sometime soon and check it out (can't be that hard to understand a slice-of-life =P).

fun note: it looks like they kept the same voice actors for the 3 sisters

I loved the original. Lets hope a change of studio doesn't change things for the worst. I know it would have be a major turn-off for me if they changed voice actors (or anything similar).

Having looked at the raws for the first 2 episodes, it sounds like the VA are the same. However going just by the first 2 episodes, I'd say the production values took a serious hit. I'm trying to be objective and just base my opinion off what I've seen of the new series itself, but its very hard to do with the previous one fresh in my mind.

There are differences in things like facial style, with Chiaki looking at times older then Kana. The layout of the apartment, and the look of it as well is different. The school likewise is different with an unusual class arrangement. Non primary characters are shown in black, and unmoving. Just placeholders really.

the previous studio did a superb job i think, tho i havent seen the raws yet(waiting patiently for a sub), im just wondering why they changed studios since the other one did a good job even for this type of show simple as it is they didnt skimp on detail and animation.. plus they follow the manga closely.

at least the seiyuu are the same for the sisters...

Aiya ... I'm not one that copes too well with change. (Glad they didn't change seiyuu's for the sisters though) especially when I just finished the first series just then ... haven't watched any of Okawari yet, but hopefully everything will work out fine, will have to see how it all goes >.<

so kinda confused .. is this in fact season 2? or just an alternate minami-ke?

Just watch the first few raws (ayako doesnt seem to like Okawari)... well, although the few anime bloggers I've visited seem to like it, I feel that this season relies more on heavy scripting to deliver the jokes, which doesnt allow Kana to deliver her cuter voice... T.T

But I can't understand completely the jokes yet... guess I'll have to wait for Ayako or some other subs

The first sub is out. Haven't had a time to watch it yet, so lets hope it's good. By the way, what are some good anime bloggers? Don't think I know any myself.

sooo .. the new character styles are a bit weird to me now since i got used to the first studio's way of doing things .. but meehhhh the characters are still there and thankfully so are the voice actors .. sooo i'l keep on looking foward to this (though sadly not as much as with the first season) .. = (

... wonder why the switch ...

The animation change caught me by surprise on the 1st episode... After seeing the 2nd episode though, I couldn't care less about it. It's not overly different... I find that I like the look of hair better in Okawari...

Still though, wtf @ the OP. Does it remind anyone else of a Gundam OP?

the animation differs a bit, but the overall quality is still pretty good.. the atmosphere seems the same, maybe all thanks to the same seiyu.

just one minor thing.. the sisters seem to have gotten a cupsize upgrade from the first season. Rolling Eyes
