My friend and I were talking yesterday, and since she's trying to make an anime website, we were trying to figure out what could set one apart.
Most anime sites I see are just the same thing: news, reviews, and a forum. The only reason to read them is for quality or quantity of content. So, being internet people, what do all of you think?
What cool features would make an anime site really awesome?
As for me:
-Manga Scans (even if only the first episode, I would be able to try out manga to see if i like it without having to always spend all that money on the whole thing. >.<)
-Personalized viewing lists (polls you and then tells you exactly what anime you would be interested in)

And I meant licensed manga. If it was only half of the first episode or something, the companies wouldn mind because it would be free advertsising, right?
Andd I was talking about lists that could tell someone what anime they'd be interested in based on their current interests. There's a lot out there.
Okay, just forget about those two, then. Do any of you have any cool ideas?

that would be up to the company that's licensing the manga. Any site that wanted to host their manga would legally need their permission anyway. I guess the only legal way of finding out about what's good and what's not is to ask other fans. There are 2 or 3 Manga Discussion sections in these forums, plenty of people to ask there

yeah, I figured that's what you meant. Most people use their forum profiles and signatures to express what they're interested in. Also there are forum threads all over the place where people list their faves and currently-watching.

haha, well, any ideas I have I'd use for this site. It's part of my plan for world domination, you know... the usual. I suppose there is no FEATURE that is unique these days, just content. Start a site that posts reviews of anime or has a cool forum community or does contests for prizes. That's the best I can think of.
