I just read that the game is being turned into a OAV. That's great news. Thisis one of my favorite games next to Kingdom Hearts and it has a story I've never forgotten to this day. I loved all the characters and interactions and the gameplay overall. I honestly cannot wait until the OAV is released. _________________

You wanna hear the bad news?
Someone likely won't be included. As far as I know, only Sylvarant characters are making an appearance. _________________

I thought an OAV was too short to introduce EVERYONE. I really hope they turn it into a series, a la Otogi-Jushi Akazukin. A lot happened int the game that has enough story and development to last 26 episodes. _________________

I had more than 80 hours of gameplay, so i'd say about two seasons. My opinion though ^^ _________________ Reality is wrong.

| They crammed Tales of Phantasia into 4 episodes, so hopefully Takes of Symphonia is longer than that... |

Scratch that whole thing. It was because I was torrenting the ver.1 torrent and I didn't realize ver.2 came out. =(
:Edit:
Brief Feedback:
Character designs were a beaut, as expected of an OAV and of Kosuke Fujishima, who also did the designs for ToP. Battle were well done, I suppose. Nice and mild gore. They've twisted a few things in the plot (i.e. Desians' purpose for invading the town and reason for Lloyd and Genis leaving town) which I suppose isn't too major. I'm uneasy with Lloyd's VA, he sounds really cocky. And lastly,
WHERE THE HELL ARE THE DWARVEN VOWS!?

Right, you're not too much of the video games person.
Weeelll, for you, I'd probably say that you'd still be able to understand whats going on even if you haven't played the game...hopefully anyways (because Tales of Phantasia kind of failed at this). The first episode was elaborate enough. Hopefully, the next episode won't take a hyper jump and end up in a spot where you don't understand anything anymore.. _________________

omg the first OVA was too sick (a good thing lol) the animation was gorgeous and yea they changed some things up but not too much thankfully. i love whenever they use a technique from the game, it looks so good animated, i always thought they that should've made an anime of it whenver i saw the OP for the game but it sucks that its only OVA's and not a series _________________

OVAs means: GOOD graphics; more time spent on the development; more thoroughly thought out story (usually); more spectacular special effects; just generally better than series episodes. Don't knock OVAs!
I'm planning to watch this in the next couple of days, so I'll be able to tell if my OVA ftw speech is justified in this case... |

just finished watching the first installment of this OVA series...
interesting...
as expected from an OVA, nice graphics...
the story is decent enough that a non-gamer like me is able to catch up on whats the deal with the story but still leaves enough mystery for me to want to watch more...
interesting to note is the little combo move the male protagonist did with that one soldier... that was cool...
so a good start so far... and with 3 more installments in the works i hope this pans out well... _________________

i don't know how their going to finish, i didn't see the lil girl with the huge ax and the fighter guy who only uses his legs, i didn't see that they had voice actors maybe they didn't put it for spoiler reasons?!? i highly doubt that, i don't think their going to be in it. it might be that they'll make it half way or something!?! idk
and yea i know OVA's have better animation, their like movies, the two hajime no ippo OVA's owned but they didn't make anymore episodes so i rather them not make an OVA which such good graphics or w/e and just make a series and cover everything there is to cover. tales of symphonia has a good story and enough for a decent number of episodes.
as for hajime no ippo they should've kept making episodes i guess it wasn't that popular but it still owns as much as any other shounen series out there and it would've lasted too mangas already in like 77 volume o_O _________________
