im just wondering... see im looking for improvement because right now i just....am having significant difficulty. if anyon has any constructive criticism..that would be really great.
i seem to be having diffuculty mostly with : the jacket, the ascot, and the braid.
can anyone help me?
oh and ignore the mask for now... im still....trying to figure that one out.
go to google and type in "1800 clothes" or go to your library and find a book about fashion in the 1800. I can see improvements, and they're pretty good just remember to look carefully on the human anatomy and such
well.. you know... i wasnt THAT off.... just...alot _________________ [IMG:320:102:4a263db7fe]http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff138/kbwc9/hello%20kitty/Scene.png[/img:4a263db7fe]
real life pics are probably going to be your friend here. definately spend some time with good sources and just practice copying them over and over until you can do the basics w/out help.
not much of a fashion buff, but i get the feeling that the jacket needs a lot more trimmings and frills. it looks a bit bland, and your wrinkles aren't profound enough. also, try to work on your shading. more specifically, on the clothing to give it a more layered feel, so that they dont all look flat (eg, frilly thing at the neck and wrist). the braids need to be a lot tighter with more definition. right now, it looks more like hair curled around a long rod.
also, definately try to get some anatomy practice. the biggest step to making your pics look better is to make them "more real" in the sense that the viewer won't get an awkward vibe from your pic. for example, his hand is really off. again, no need to go into great detail, just get the basics down. fingers dont flow like rubber, they're pretty jagged, especially at the knuckles. if you're having a hard time with this, just grab a mirror and practice on yourself.
your coloring is nice. i like the highlights and shading, for the most part. but try to accentuate the important parts more, like major joints and wrinkle spots.
hope this was helpful, keep up the good work. _________________
Everything (except the jacket) seems to be one smooth curvy line. Try not to draw lines only to say "these are fingers", but draw each individual segment, add findernails, and specify the jonits. The ascott is also several wavy lines. Show us where the folds would overlap, come to a point, etc.,... Also, the neck is much too long.
What I would do is work on sketching. Try this, make many many sketches concentrating on anatomy and foreshortening and at the same time have one "masterpiece" in development that you won't color until the end of the month.
You're on the right track though and I hope this helps!
