OK so ignore me........but you all know what I am saying and what is wrong with this.....
at this moment I am fast loosing faith in this mod team, as they have not dealt with this well at all
I call for a vote of no confidence in the Moderating Team for violation of site rules, flaming, spamming, cussing and miss-use of Moderating powers....

Well, it was uncoerdinated and done without premeditation. At least on my part. I never knew what the other guys were thinking so I just played along. _________________
Well then some sort of discipline should be utilized for those that have done this if in fact no coordination/communication existed.....those Mods that abuse their powers, regardless of the nature, do not deserve the right to hold onto that power.
Mods are here so as to make sure the site runs in an orderly fashion and act as the leaders of that site. The events that have transpired prove that the mods who took part in creating this deserve to be punished and stripped of mod powers until realize they are supposed to act accordingly. Regardless of the length of time, some sort of punishment is needed, whether it is a week/month/year so as to make an example of what bad moderating is.
This should not be tolerated, especially from mods.
warlock, lemme first say that i completely understand where you're coming from. the mods are the leaders of their respective forums and should act as role models for others to follow.
that being said, i think i still stand with ani and xeno on this one. it was a prank made in good fun, if bad taste to some. mods are just as human as the rest of you and want to have a little fun and relax now and again. i didnt really pay much attention to this haruhi character as i, like most of you, i'm sure, felt that the mods would do their jobs and deal with him. so i really dont know what he did, or even if it was he that offended you more than the actual prank itself.

However, I still hold to what I had said previously and believe that those mods that participated in this should be punished. Are politicians left off the hook if there is a botched joke? NO. Are media left off the hook when a joke goes bad? NO I think a mod is the same, being the leadership of the forum they should be held accountable for their abuse. Thus far the following abuses have occurred:
Spamming
Flaming
Multi-Accounts
Writing in illegible English
Abuse of Moderating Powers
Perpetuating the abuse of the Intro Threads
Mismanagement
When I first became a member I was told that to be a member you had to post in legible English. Well the "character" that had been created posted in illegible English. None of the mods did anything. We were told not spam. Well that "character" repeatedly spammed. We were told not to use multiple accounts. The mods accused were working with multiple accounts. And lastly, after the A-S community had been reprimanded for the spamming of the Intro threads, leading to the locking of numerous threads, those accused did just the same with their "new" threads.
What does this say to new members? Spamming is ok? Flaming is ok? Just plain reckless use of power is ok?
I think not. The fact is power was abused and nothing is being done. This was a botched joke that just furthers the disintegration of this board, and continues the existence of spamming.
I have no confidence in this moderating group as they have failed this forum. That is all I have to say.

i understand that u are offended, and all my defences lay in what ddogt has already stated.
moderator power was definately NOT abused.
u have to understand that moderator's power only extends so far.
we mods are within our power to:
edit, note IPs, delete, move, and lock threads. we have no power to ban members, all higher up matters go to admins and staff as they hold higher power.
me using haruhi account was not an abuse of my power as a mod because the haruhi account held no moderator power whatsoever.
if i had signed in and flamed as ani, then that would be the reason i get into trouble, but using haruhi account, the blame would lay in the newbie, NOT the moderator behind the name. same goes for spamming. however, there was no admin available at the time of the spamfest in the LTE, so i had to do the best i could with my moderator abilities.
certainly multiaccounts are not allowed, and as always with aprils fools, the staff and mods clean up what we've done.
no doubt that the haruhi account will be deleted, if not already.
u cant see it, but i made sure to cover as many bases with this as i could, within the moderators / staff forum, i made it clear that haruhi had contacted us regarding his grammar.
didnt u notice the change in his grammar from his posts?
id like to make it clear that:

I understand this, but the "prank" had gone on for well over a week, far longer than a "joke" and when can one draw the line of reality and illusion. This is just a perpetuation of power abuse and a bad example for new users. I am sorry, but I will not turn back on my accusations.
Punishment is needed and the admins must do something about this.
yes, the prank did go on for a week, however, with everything in life, we wanted to make things a little different every time.
if we had made the accounts a day or two before april fools, then it would be too obvious and thus defeat the purpose of having a prank.
in my opinion, it doesnt matter how long the prank had lasted, what matters is that the truth came out and ammendents were made.
ask ultimasome, yushire or angel armz, they were the ones that had to see all the abuse in the LTE following its lockup, however, i sent them all individually typed and honest PM regarding the situation.
even after the truth came out, i still followed up those PM's stating that all the abuse and flaming done by haruhi was a prank, but everything else he said was honest fact.
ultimasome was hurt to know the truth, but i have done everything i can to amend that with her and i hope that she forgives me.
i have taken every step that i could to ensure that the other members were not directly involved.

As I was contacted on the matter in PM by Warlocklord, I just thought I'd pinch a little something to try and close the subject.
While the behavior they portrayed doing their prank was indeed at fault, I don't beleive there should be any sort of punishment for volunteers who simply tried to do an elaborated scheme.
Mind you I wasn't aware of the prank and banned the account and the IP... And this afternoon I was wondering why the ban had disapeared. Still, I beleive they tried to do something funny (I'v done worse... And I've seen even worse).
So, well... Let's all take a drink of whatever you may like to honesty and fun. I'm hoping to see something better next year, but do try to keep it to April 1st.

I'm sorry that you weren't amused. But the mods still have the right to complain because even if they were fooled or not (most prolly weren't even online since this happened at an odd time of day), they prolly suspected it was a joke and let it slide for that reason. Like LG and Leo said, they knew about it because as mods, we can tell when people have multiple accounts (clicking on Haruhi_Lova tells us it's Ani_MaSTeR as does clicking on crackerz4u reveal it was me). Anyway, if you ask me, this is the kind of thing A-Source needs... an event that involves everyone so we can all talk about it and laugh about it in the end. Take it for what it's worth, but if you feel like it's a reason to leave A-Source, then I don't know what else to tell ya.

we only did that because we knew it would attract the most attention. Besides, it was only locked for minutes at a time, there are other things on this site where people can play during downtime like that.
