It seems the future isn't so bleak after all. I'm afraid Yoko might be dethroned by Nia because of her equally explosive popularity resulting from episode 9. Wow Nia is some kind of monstrous concentration of all things moe. Gainax may have unleashed something far too dangerous for them to handle.

Somehow, Nia seems like a perfect match for Simon, as Yoko was a good match for Kamina.
Her eyes... her hair... her voice... damn you Gainax, just what have you created?
So with my limited understanding of Japanese, it wasn't too hard to figure out what was going on watching the raw. Simon is feeling responsible for Kamina's death and blaming himself. He also feels that he has to fight twice as harder in Kamina's place.
The spiral king seems to be human. Nia is his daughter but for some reason thrown out by her father?

Nia indeed seems like a perfect match for Simon
This was a pretty good post death/emo episode. Simon + Emo = Hilarious. I found the meeting between Nia and Simon to be very cute. Never would of thought that Nia was the king's daughter.

man that sux, i wanted Yoko to end up with Simon once he hits major puberty but Nia is just as good a match if not better, besides its not like i can get mad at her, she's just too cute. So something i noticed, when Simon found her there were other boxes there, does that mean that they are all like her?

Though if all the boxes were similar to Nia's, they may not have been trash. Nia's box looked more like some sort of stasis pod.
Nia's box seemed special since it required that drill shaped key. There's something connected to Sprial king and Simon's ganmen.

By the way... has anyone read the horror manga Uzumaki? I get the creeps when I see Spiral king's capital...

Adiane's Seirune = Seiryuu (ι?ιΎ?) the blue dragon
Expect Guanine's ganmen to sound similar to "Genbu", and Cytomander's to sound similar to "Suzaku" (or any other commonly used name for phoenix). |

well it seems a bit farfetched at first but if you look at it closely it has a surprising truth to it, kinda. Like how the Spiral King is human right? or at least the guy looked like he was and so perhaps the ganmen are genetically altered humans that he created. could work right?

Not the Ganmen... the beastmen (ganmen are robots)
After taking a second look at EP 1 I think that one of the people in Simon's bridge looked like a beastman... I wonder what that is going to be about.

There is a talk on the internet that he may be Rossiu, but somehow got beastman treatment or something. I think it's very plausible that he's Rossiu, since it looks like he'll be pilot partner for Simon from now on.

Just saw the raw.
Hahaha this episode made it so obvious what Gainax is trying to do. All the animation involving Nia was over the top compared to all other characters.
They must have put more effort into animating Nia than anything else in the episode.
So the king did throw out Nia, no idea why any father would throw away such a lovely little daughter...
Also, it looks like Viral doesn't know that Kamina is dead. I think he mistook Rossiu for Kamina.
Next episode preview makes me worry that ep11 may be another Gainax style mindf**k episode.

Sigh... Nia, why do you tease me so? You have become the sole reason for me to watch this series now.
I'm very worried about Nia... Gainax has a tendency to kill off their most popular characters.

ep 10 was pretty gud. i can see what u mean about animating nia to look nicer. haha
this show is fun. 11 looks like its going to be a good one |
