Just watched the first episode. Pretty awesome so far, but that thing is so overpowered.
I don't know its name yet, so I'll call it Evagodzilla for now.

really looks promising from the first ep.. maybe another combination of things that worked before but,meh.. the animation quality should speak for itself, i just hope the next episodes wont deteriorate in quality as much as many others have in the long run.

i completely agree with you here, silverkitsune. i sense huge power-level problems for this show if it goes shounen.
only seen the raw, but still pretty damn epic so far. here's what i've gathered. a colony(?) of some space faring people are in search of a wrecked ship on some distant (maybe prophisized?) planet. upon finding it, they meet the lone survivor and are then attacked by the aforementioned giga-zerglings. KEKEKE ling rush starts obliterating the ship, which lone survivor boy calls "Okaa-san" (mother, for those of you who dont moonspeak), and goes batshit insane. he OMGWTFPWND the ling colony/planet thing in about 5 seconds.

Xebec+Hisashi Hirai's characters+Tow Ubukata's Series comp.+Mecha by Naohiro Washio+Op by Angela... This show screams "fafner", doesn't it?.
Anway, I liked Fafner but this is rather different. Can't say that the first episode hooked me, but it piqued my interest enough to give the rest of the show a go.
Yup, that thing (name's "Nodos", apparently), IS overpowered. Even if it doesn't beam-spam, taking out a planetoid just like that... I guess we all can agree that its power level is over 9000...

well from what it looked, it wasnt a planet that it took out,, but rather an alien ship(or moving colony if you preffer). he took out its pilot in the core.
in the sub released, it was pointed out about those zerglings, they didnt just come out of nowhere, they are one of the 4 races that has been mentioned. the humans are the last of those races that had evolved to traverse space and they all seem to be looking for the traces of some higher race(former rulers?) that has left the universe long ago.

Yeah, I'm guessing it was something close to a borg cube from Star Trek. The thing in the center was probably some sort of overlord that gives out orders to the other bugs.
The 4 races were:
The golden tribe - some sort of supreme almighty rulers of the universe. They seem to have passed on the knowledge to other tribes to let them become space travelers. They left this universe after they passed on the knowledge.
The bronze tribe - the bugs we saw in first episode.
The iron tribe - Humans, supposedly came to exist in space along side these other races by their own power without the help of the golden tribe.
The silver tribe - nothing is known yet.
The hero tribe - That crazy overpowered Nodos is supposedly from Hero tribe.

So not a Borg cube, more a Zerg sphere...
I kinda thought it was like a giant biomass. Not a ship or a planetoid, but a living creature or a vast collection of living creatures. Like an anthill, perhaps, with a 'queen' at the centre.
Design-wise, of all the four tribes, I think I like the look of the Silver Tribe the most. What's the betting they'll be emotionless, efficient and ruthless? |

bastards! I watched the 2nd episode raw and I am already hoping the humans die miserably.
Basically, they try to get Age to agree to a freakin "The 12 Labors" contract. And of course Age has no idea what the hell a contract is. What really really dissed me is that the contract is essentially a contract to make Humans the ruler of the univers. Age is suppose to obey them, destory all other races and make their home planet Human's and give Humans all the knowledge of the golden tribe. If all of those conditions are fullfilled, the Humans agree to grant one wish to Age. What kind of !@#$ up contract is that?
