I knew you guys would compare this anime with EVA, UTAWARERUMONO and STARCRAFT!
I mean who wouldn't? We can help it... at first I saw 1 huge mother ship in space thinking "Oh great another sci-fi" then unexpectedly Terran Marines massacring some Hydralisk from Zergs. Little do i know i see the revival of EVAGODZILA squashing the poor drones in the zerg hive.
I already love the anime with the 1st ep. sadly the songs doesn't really appear attractive much... can't wait for the 2ep.
Ohyeah... Silver Tribe indeed looks abit like Protoss ^^

but then again, the iron tribe gets gundams instead of marines. damn, i love these little dudes in sc, combined with medics. |

The 12 works, huh?
The step by step recipe to ruling the universe? Man, mankind sure is ambitious as always. It's only episode 2 and I'm already hoping for it to get its ass kicked. So Age would get "a wish" granted in exchange for killing countless sentient beings and giving some ambitious jerks control of the universe? I would advise that kid Age to breach contract as soon as he can. If he can understand the concepts of "contract" and "breach", that is. Deianeira's people seem nice enough, but we all know mankind's face isn't that pretty.

I wonder what the golden tribe's moral justification was in getting all these races in the universe to kill one another...its just whacked.
I mean, they could of just given all the tribes the ability to see the futuer and build planets...but then we wouldnt get to see mecha battles then would we? |

terms and names are based on greek myth, mainly the title 'heroic age' should mean something, as well as the name of their ship 'argonaut', and names of some of the characters. and the '12 tasks' albeit much too different from the origin.
when it comes to the races, maybe they're based on gods, titans, humans, demigod's etc..

| Well, the first episode was good. I admit I really enjoyed it. The second one though pretty much bored me to tears. Based on that, I think I'm done watching Heroic age. Maybe I'll pick it up again via batch torrent when they are all out. |

My impression from seeing the first three episodes is that the Golden Tribe called out to the Bronze, Silver, and Hero tribes to join it and leave this known galaxy.
After Iron Tribe (humanity) rose of its own accord, the remnants of the other three tribes who refused to leave with the Golden Tribe decided to blast it into the stone age.
At least that's what I'm assuming so far. The 2nd episode's Manifest Destiny document really rubbed me the wrong way, unless the Golden Tribe designated this galaxy for the Iron Tribe and originally led each of the other tribes to their own galaxies. That's the only way I could still see the 12 Contracts as anything other than utterly offensive.

My feeling is that the 12 labors are what human's made up. So far I only heard them say that "Go find this lone human child that bears your destiny". so the instruction from the Golden Tribe might be just to find Age. The humans probably made up those contracts, either out of misunderstanding (highly unlikely) or greed (highly likely). From ep 2 we can sort of tell that the humans some how went back to the age where empires rules, not to mention the 12 labors has mentioned "king". I think that's a bad sign... maybe the humans are not corrupted?
And in the end of the 2nd ep, the captain is going, "with this power, we can win even against God themselves!" foolishness...
I can't wait till they get crashed into little bits by nodos. Btw, it's a good thing to see Age still untainted and sort of goes about doing things his own way. Not sure how long this will last though.
some info from ep 3
so... there are 5 nodos left since the heroic tribe had some sort of civil war. Golden tribe decided to seal the last 5 of them and give(?) to other weaker races to protect them(?). However, it seems like four of them ended up in Silver tribe's hands. The shadow of the 4 other people who received nodos basically corrosponds to the 4 silver tribe people that show up in the opening sequence. Anyways, Age will probably be clashing with them shortly since the preview says they meet one of the other nodos in ep 4

Yeh , they probably were made up by the humans, but it still seems like the Golden tribe encouraged war between the tribes.
They sent members of the hero tribe to each different tribe so they obvioulsy knew that the tribes were gonna fight one another
Well at the moment humans definintely seem like arrogant poo-heads but the
silver tribe / bronze tribe attacked first
as well soooooo im guessing all the races are gonna continually act like poo-heads, just like gundam i suppose  |

But then Age is "pure of heart" so he can. |
