I am so confused after watching episode 1.
Right away, I could tell there were similarities to Yamibou in this series.
From what I read about it so far, character designs are done by Carnelian, same person who did Yamibou characters. http://ever-green.on.arena.ne.jp/

But I'm just so confused what this is really about. The first episode did a horrible job at introducing me to the series. I'm gonna guess that this might turn out to be something like Yamibou and have characters hopping from one world to another. My brain hurts after watching this.

Oh also, this is suppose to be a spin off from Moonlight Lady.

Yeah I agree. The first episode could not have been more confusing if they had tried. This feels more like it should have been episode 7 or 8. Also, some of the voices they used for the characters, really didn't go with those characters. Particularly in the first part of the episode with the older girl calling the younger sounding girl mother.

The cutest part was the girl with the hotdog and the bat. Smile

I hope this is one of those series like gungrave or berserk where the first ep is really halfway through the series... else im going to be so confused -.-;;

aye - it was all sorts of confusing..

though I have to wonder how much of it is related to the novel that the 'mom' character was writing....

This one really did confound me.
It seemed as though the whole thing's tied in with a 'reincarnation' or 'previous life' idea, or perhaps that the later part where Touka and Momoka meet and kiss on the train station was actually part of a novel.

Perhaps Touka was never really Yumiko's daughter by blood, by borne out of the things she had written...In any case, it's all rather confusing even for me.

Let's hope the second episode clears things up a bit.

Decided to download and watch this anime...Dang...I'm confused

oh well...I'm gonna watch ep 2 and 3 later...Hope those episodes can clear it up Confused

Just watched up to episode 3 and I really don't understand this anime. Are they playing the events backwards as the series move on (epi 2 had the concert and epi 3 takes place before it?) ? Or is the show just bringing stuff into the show out of nowhere? They have to explain more of the storyline otherwise I'm going to lose interest in this series real quick...

i really doubt thats his real mum.

Hell we dont even know he's a male or female in one moment and the next.

either way, carnelian is known to do some pretty hot stuff, and i find the character design of his "mama" to be really hot. perhaps its that red tinge on her skin glow that sets her apart most anime characters.

Touka Gettan Anime Airing Episodes in Reverse Order

The creators of the Touka Gettan supernatural anime series have acknowledged on their blog that the twenty-six episodes have been airing in deliberate reverse order from the chronological story. The first episode (which aired on April 2) told the ending of the story arc, and each successive episode has been going backward in time to tell how the ending came about.

The American movie Memento and an episode of the American Seinfeld television series used a similar storytelling technique, but the Touka Gettan creators say this is the first time in television animation that it has been done for an entire series. The blog credits director Yuji Yamaguchi (Fate/stay night) and writer Tomomi Mochizuki (director of Ocean Waves, Kimagure Orange Road: The Movie) for this twist. Both worked on Yami to BÅ?shi to Hon no Tabibito before this series.
