Nagi, Shana and Louise are almost like the same character in parallel universes or something.
Anyway, i didn't like shakugan no shana or zero no tsukaima so i'm not expecting much from this. That said, so far it has started quite interestingly. |

I think it would be fun to have a contest to see how many tributes/cameos/jokes from other anime you can point out on each episode.
I read the "chinese" version of the manga and it's hilarious. The general view is that the guy's artist skill is just so so but all the little tributes for otakus to pick out are great. For people who never read the manga, as the episodes goes on you'll realize how much the author and the animation team knows about acg. It can be a little test on your otakudom.
I am sure someone has picked this up already but in the op, there are three robot shadows and they are
right
tetsujin 28
middle
gundam of course
left
unfortunately I can't quite pick it up but I think it's probably one of those
transforming robot that combines other small robots from the 80's anime
anyone knows for sure which robot's on the left hand side? |

i think it's 'optimus prime' from the head shape down to the body build and the stick protruding from the shoulder but i could be wrong.

Haha I found more otaku references in this episode.
Nagi's sailor moon pose.
Hayate mentioned Freeza with bleeped out name.
Hayate gets impaled by several spears similar to Longinus's Spear from Evangelion.
Hayate does Snake impression (MGS) in the preview.
I couldn't get what exactly Hayate was saying about Tama when he first saw him. I don't know what company is famous for 1/1 scale figures, so I wouldn't know. I think he mentions Sony and thinks Tama is a robot I guess.

I thought the Lance of Longinus in NGE has two spikes...
Anyway, looks more like Lancer's Gáe Bolg from F/SN to me. |

well, about that 1/1 scale thing... I thought I heard "***dai"... like "Bandai" which is famouse for their gundam models...
althought at first before I really listened to it, Kaiyodo came to my mind. It's probably one of the best, if not the best figure making company in japan. |

It does, but these are only references, not the real deal. Besides, Gae Bolg is red and has an actual blade-shaped tip. These were just coiled like Longinus.

i thought the lance originally started out as a single coiled thing, and only split when it was about to be used. also, the multiplicity of them reminded me of assuka's fight with the mass produced models in End of Eva. and he's definately refering to sony, as he clearly states it could be for the playstation 5.
another reference, if i'm not mistaken is the detective conan bust in the yard
tama's voice caught me a little off-guard, even though i was expecting it. idk, something about it doesnt seem to fit, for me. |

Oh yeah, I saw that Conan bust too, it kinda slipped my mind where I saw that. Haha it's becoming too common to see these otaku characters in anime lately. But Nagi doesn't come even close to Izumi when it comes to being hardcore otaku.
But I just can't figure out what the bleep meant when Hayate thought it was for PS5. A new type of controller?
