i happen all of the sudden, my ps2 unable to load all of the disc, evnthough the disc was in a good shape and doesnt hv a single scratch/dust at all.....
it only lead to the browser screen - 'readin disc'
and to this screen - 'plz insert playstation or playstation 2 format disc'
does this prob got anythin to do with ps2 need to be reformatted?

a lot of ps2's eventually hit this bump. i know all of my friends who've had theirs for more than a few years start having this problem crop up on them. it's due to the manufacturing and materials used in the ps2, and no fault of your own (usually). there really is no way to fix it unless you want to send it in to sony, but i dont know jack about their policies on repairs/replacements. you're most likely better off getting what you still can out of it and then buy a nother one.

there is no other way? none at all?
i,ll guess i juz go to the gameshop and buy ps3 then.....

If you mind paying 2/3 price of PS2 to replace the reading lens of the DVD bay, then buying PS3 is definitely a good idea.

to think that the ps2 that i buy for $1500 end damage juz like that, i feel kinda sad....T___T.....I WANT MY MONEY BACK......

so, u say it got sumthin to do with the readin lens huh?
well, when i look closely inside my ps2, it was full of dust, evn a spider web could end up inside it.....
i try to open my ps2 b4 to clean the inside parts coz i think that was the prob, but the lower case and upper case end up attched to each other like mountain and earth.....

Well, if you buy it at around $1500, then you must be buying the first few batches of PS2. To tell you the truth, for that machine to last that long is considered pretty good for me... =P
