A light-hearted, thigh-slapping, shoujo comedy made by the TOEI Animation studio. It's about how two friends (enemies?) Risa and Otani developed through their humorous friendship into something more.

Known as the comedy duo not just because of their daily bickering, but also because of their height difference. As seen in the from the OP sequence above.

I love these genres; Honey & Clover, Nodame Cantabile, and those other shoujo comedies are like popcorn to me now as I watch the weekends roll by. And as soon I saw the screenies of this one, I know I'm booked for another anime marathon (once the subs come out).

OMG LOVELY COMPLEX ANIME! I loved LOVED the manga! one of the funniest and cutest shoujo out there (not overly cute though) and I can't wait to see the anime!
To all shoujo anime lovers, keep an eye out for this one cuz its gonna be GREAT!!!!! Very Happy

dang! huge differents in height

it must feel weird to go out with a girl that 10 times taller than yourself.......
(i never had that problem) so the anime is kinda interesting, but since i dont read manga i never heard of it.......... Neutral

I saw the Live Action movie a few weeks ago. I'm enjoying the anime alot more so far.

gotta love the seiyus for the 'all hanshin kyojin' duo, their accent was a nice touch and compliments their characters giddy personalities. Laughing

well then again majority of them have the same accent.. must be an established regional setting.

I've gone out with girls that were taller then I am. It can be a bit intimidating, but when you get right down to it, girls are girls, and it doesn't really matter if they're tall or short. Once you figure that out there isn't really a huge issue, at least not for me. Admittedly, the girls I've dated were somewhat similar in size, not a lot taller then me, so I can't speak for this situation where the girl is literally a head taller then the guy. Still, not all that big of a deal I don't think.

wai~ another shoujo comedy! honestly, i was a bit turned off at first, just from giant-girl's hairbuns. i just can't see them without blanching. but her personality far more than makes up for them ^^.

the first episode seemed to move really fast, but did a very nice job of introducing the cast and setting the mood of the show. i didnt pay much attention to the accents, but the fast-paced and high-tension banter never fails to make me chuckle.

ps: risa needs to just keep her hair down.
pps: did anyone else watching kissub's version find it ridiculously small?

Haha episode 1 was good, it's relatively fast-paced. I thought they'd drag it out a lil more before the 2 start getting attracted to each other.

Lol and the other couple are.... well a couple already Laughing

The plot was somewhat predictable, but its still all good and very funny.

I like it with all the kasai-ben ^^ (haha they all sound like kero-chan) makes the show a lil more wackier Very Happy

Looking forward to eppie 2.

I feel bad that girls even have to worry about being too tall...
Is it such a bad thing that a girl is 170cm (5'7") tall? If she had the looks, she could be a super model. People who make fun of tall girls are probably jealous for being so short themselves.

Hell, any guy would love being taller than the rest of the shorties. I'm pretty average height of 5'10" but I still wanna be taller.

I do feel bad for the boy Otani... 156cm (5'1"), I'd be sensitive about the issue too if I were him. I did have a friend who went through a growth spur lot later than most people. I pretty much stopped growing when I was a high school senior, but this guy kept growing even after we graduated. When I first met the guy in high school first year, he was lot smaller than me, now he's like at least 6feet tall. He was a shorty in junior high.

Oh and my younger brother is taller than me. I only regret not drinking enough milk when growing up.

well i live in an area were their a lot of short people, mosly women(mexican)

so i'm kinda used to people being shorter than me and i have to say sometimes want to be short to. Wink

I guess it doesn't matter how tall yourself is... it's just in our nature to be wanting to be same as everyone else. If everyone else was short, you'd want to be short too. Japan does have one of the shortest average height in the world, according to world human height studies. Tall people probably want to be normal height, there are lot of inconveniences associated with being so tall.
