ok i am now running a 3rd type of bt client.
first i had azeureus, then i installed bitcomet, now im on utorrent.
the reason i went through so many is that there's this weird ass problem that keeps friggin occuring. when i leave the client running after some time it would reboot the whole computer meaning it's like i had hit the restart button. this keeps happening. And when i log back in the says microsoft or something has recovered from a serious error or something like that. does any one know what to do to fix this???? |

There are many reasons for BSOD to occur, you need to provide more information like the error messages shown.
1. Are you using a software firewall? If it only happens when you are using BT, it might be the cause since some firewalls can't seem to handle too many connections at one time. I remember getting a BSOD every few hours when i had Zone Alarm Pro installed.
2. Have you installed any new software or hardware lately? Try checking their support forums and see if anyone else is having the same problem.
3. Don't install too many BT clients, they will only do more harm than good since one may conflict with another. Choose which one you prefer and stick to it.
4. Scan your pc for viruses or worms. _________________ What's yours is mine, what's mine is still mine. |

1) i got the microsoft firewall and nvdia firewall. but i turned off the nvdia and just had the microsoft one on
2) all the programs i have are pretty much the same as b4. only new thing mite be daemon tools but i dont think thats it.
3) i only have utorrent as of now. everytime i try a new one i uninstall the old ones.
4) i'll scan it again |

Actually, i had a couple of BSODs which were caused by Daemon Tool's SPTD-driver and was forced to uninstall it.
If your computer is configured to automatically reboot after a system failure, set it back to manual so you can read the error messages shown on the blue screen. It should display what caused the BSOD so copy them down on a paper.
Right click My Computer\Advanced\Startup and Recovery Settings\ and deselect "Automatically restart". _________________ What's yours is mine, what's mine is still mine. |

It seems that your graphic card and Nvidia firewall are the ones responsible for the BSODs. You can try updating the graphic card drivers or uninstall any NVidia softwares (including the firewall). _________________ What's yours is mine, what's mine is still mine. |

Let me give you some advice. When you're updating your Nvidia graphics card, don't use the Windows driver update (don't update your graphics driver through Windows Update. They're buggy and caused my Geforce3 Ti200 to BSOD). Download the drivers from Nvidia's official site instead.

Okay, I just found out from reading your posts in forums.narutofan.com that you're using the integrated Nvidia firewall on your motherboard and you're using the Windows XP's built-in firewall.
I'm guessing there started a conflict between the Nvidia firewall and the Windows XP in the kernel once you hooked up the ethernet cable for the first time since you've been on the 56k modem. Try disabling the Windows XP's firewall or disable Nvidia's firewall. |

When you said "off," I'm assuming that you're talking about the software. But I don't really know how you're doing that. Did you remove the Nvidia firewall application (I think it's called ActiveArmor?) from your start up list? Do you turn it "off" through Task Manager? Did you uninstall the application?
What I got from further digging, there is no uninstaller or doesn't show up in the Control Panel's Add/Remove list.
If you're still having the problem, I would try to remove the application from the start up list and disable the hardware through Device Manager.
You could try uninstalling the drivers that uses the hardware and the chipset itself, reboot, install the chipset driver from your motherboard CD, excluding the nam (network access manager) or the firewall stuff.
If you're planning to do a fresh format, remember to install only the chipset driver and the other necessaries, and not the nam/firewall. |

by off i meant i turned it to the off status like it was on medium security b4 lol
on add or remove list theres a nvdia driver and nvidia foreware network access manager
guessing i should remove the forceware one? |

Uninstalling NAM should do the trick. _________________ What's yours is mine, what's mine is still mine. |
