Yeah, Shinsen tends to be have a looser, freer translation style. It gives you more English friendly subs, but it can have the possibility of sounding odd if you can understand some of the Japanese. It also makes it harder to pick up words and phrases. Of course, it's a personal opinion and I can definitely see people not wanting more literal, harder to read subs.

Strange what surprised me about Hei isn't that he eats for 10 people (which by the way are bound to cost a hell of alot of money for him) nor his powers... what I'm most surprised with is that he has that coat of his in his backpocket!?!? I want me one of those if it can fit in my backpocket then ohh yeah

oh mans... Studio BONES AND Yoko Kanno?!?!?! So far after 3 episodes I'm fairly intrigued about the premise behind the Darker than Black universe and of course loving the animation quality courtesy of studio BONES and the musical talent of Yoko Kanno.

theres like a main enemy in this anime. like some crazy boss type character thats going to cause the guy to go all out so we see the true extent of his powers. i wonder if hell be like ginji from getbackers when he goes all out Razz

the subs doesn't really matter for me, i just dl whichever one comes out first or it says it's a better quality. haha. ahh!! i really like this! Ep. 5 got to give us the reason for his actions! We're getting to the story of it all and it's not all that random!

Episode 7 was ok. Am I the only one that is starting to be disappointed in this show? I expected much more after being blown away with the first episode.

okay so we already established hei's ability but what is the payment for it? is it his unnatural appetite? Above all i'm more interested in his part in the war that Havoc mentioned and what that war is about. no doubt the bad guys stem from there

i thought episode 7 was hilarious. the beginning was funny. then it builds up towards a slight suspense and then the ending was.. cliffhanger-ish. i dont think this anime is bad at all

I'm enjoying this anime alot. It has the potential to be a good anime aimed at a slightly oder audience. The lighter touch in 7-8 was lots of fun and a nice break from the darker more serious elements that dominated the first 6 episodes.
