A-S Bokurano synopsis & review page
Plot Summary: During a summer camp, 15 children, 8 males and 7 females, find a grotto by the sea. Deep within they discover working computers and some electronic equipment, and later the owner, a man called Kokopelli. Kokopelli claimed to be a programmer working on a brand new game, in which a large robot has to defend the Earth against fifteen alien invasions. He persuades the children to test the game and sign a contract. All but one of them signs, barely a moment later they mysteriously awaken on the shore believing what happened was just a dream.

Man xris talk about timming 5 minutes diffrence in the thread I made and this. Well I'll delete mine but still funny
While checking on the upcomming animes this title catched my eye. So far it's not what I expected since I thought it'd be more of a darker tone in it. Then again it could still be one but I was thinking more despair, children acting stupidly (fighting among each other), frustration, fear and etc etc the usual things. Also for some reason I thought that while in this "game" they'd be alone but seemingly not since it takes place in the "normal" world which is also abit of a dissapointment. Right now it just looks like a "children stumble upon mystery and board a mech to fight aliens" kind of series which has been done a few times before so I was expecting more then that.
Ohh and the mecha battles is kinda like Reideen in the fact that they don't move slower then the usual mechs does. But I hope this show leans more on story and characters then mech battles since it's the story that seemed intressting.
Conclusion so far the first episode doesn't impress much, hopefully it'll get better so I'll keep watching this for awhile. |

so yeah.. as promised.. i watched it...
and....
nothing much to go on since it is only one episode...
erm.. yeah.. i said the same thing for sola..
but this anime seems ok... for now...
im not sure how the kids would actually be piloting that thing...
i keep on thinking of raijin-o but i know its nowhere near it basing it on the tone of the show... _________________

Mohiro Kitoh created Bokurano, he's the one who also made Shadow Star. So I can pretty much guess how messed up and dark this series is going to be. His works are pretty disturbing because it's usually young children who go through the horrible ordeals. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

Thanks for the warning about that. I already watched the first episode, will probably just wait and watch the final episode once its subbed and released. Just to find out how it ends, and who survives.
I know, its probably just me, but I hate these depressing type animes. However I've found if I watch the first and then the last episode, suddenly they become watchable for me. Its like, if I know it has a good, positive ending, I don't mind watching the crap they go through.
So catch you when its over. |

More giant robots with realistic weight and movement! Though, from this first episode alone, I'd say Bokurano is going to win hands down over Reideen.
I have no problem with 'depressing' anime, so I'll most likely be watching this one all the way through. |

After having checked out the manga, I'm definitely going to have to pass on this one. At this point I doubt if I'll even be back for the finale. What can I say, I prefer my entertainment to be entertaining, not horrible and depressing.
I had to edit this as I needed to add spoiler tags, just in case you haven't read the manga, and want to watch the story develop.
To put it simply, every time the robot goes into action, the pilot dies. No escape. Which means basically, the 15 kids, all have death sentences. They have to pilot knowing that if the do, they die, and if they don't, everyone will die.

Am I the only one who really digs the intro? Anyway gonna go watch episode 2 now, will be back with comments... maybe
Molenir: I haven't read your spoiler tag but if it's as depressing as you say it is then woho. Maybe it's just me that likes sad depressing stories of cource I like happy ones as well but depressing ones are mmm more unusal so it makes them more special. And of cource since I like that kind of stories
Edit: Episode two
Well second episode is starting to shape it up a little bit more even though I alredy knew someone was going to die from the summery here on A-S but still I must admit it was abit unexpected. I wonder if someone always dies after they've piloted the Zearth or if he was just accidently pushed of... hmm kinda weird that he didn't make a sound at all while falling all that way down. Not to mention the older brothers reaction of hitting Kana, so far not to great but still going to watch it to see how it ends.

| Epi 2:
Holy crap, angry emo kid killed over enthusiastic soccer kid! Didn't see that coming. Wtf is wrong with him, killing one of his friends and then goes straight to slapping his little sister. Psh, hope he dies a painful and slow death. His little sister looks familiar, is her character design from Shadow Star? Can't remember
