Woho bringing this back... seems like not a lot of people watching this too bad since I like it so far. Also made me pick up Narutaru but I must admit I didn't find it that incredibly dark and depressing since it was a mix of things happy counter bad stuff happening.
Anyway back on track with Bokurano
I knew it, they all die after they pilot Zearth!!! I actually like that idea and watching how it affects them, it gives a more hmmm real feeling to it since they react in diffrent ways. Also not everyone goes we must die in order to save the earth etc. Must say so far I do like this show a lot more than his previous work since it feels more real somehow.
Wonder what's going to happen now actually some things that didn't add up from the start like the fact they needed 12 pilots but only got 11 and now Kako died before piloting it... so once the two last robots show no ones left to actually kill them or what?
Hope they don't end it halfway... that would suck a lot |

Yay, someone other than me is watching this show! lol.
I can't help feel that some of these kids deserved to die after piloting Zearth. So far, the first pilot and the girl who was almost raped by Kako are the only ones that I feel bad for*that have died, will die soon*.

Is it possible that the guy who tricked them into playing piloted zearth the first time to make up for the 1 pilot they were missing? And for the last, remember there is still one character who is always there anyway. Just cause she didn't sign up yet doesn;t mean she's in the clear, especially with this anime's tendency the disturbing.

| By the way, the anime is nowhere near the depth and darkness of the original manga. To the point that after watching episodes 6 and 7 of the Anime, I'm disgusted by what GONZO has done to this brilliant story. It's a travesty, really. If they were going to edit and modify it so much they never should have picked it up for production in the first place. |

Yay new episode ^^ after hearing about the manga I decided to go read it... after reading it the anime didn't feel as good... there were more character development in the manga as they explored the whole thing with Chizu and the teacher alot more as well as her sister... also apperently the director of Bokurano anime stated that he hates the manga... |

| It seems like the anime adaptations of the mangaka's work never turn out as good as the manga. I've heard the same thing with Shadow Star/NaruTaru. |

Speaking as someone who had a strong negative reaction to the manga, this can only count in its favor. I do remember reading that the director wanted to change the story, and got the ok from the mangaka to do so. The changes that I read about made it sound like this might almost be worth watching. Not quite, I'm going to wait and read spoilers about the end before I invest any more of my precious anime watching time on this one. I really don't want another Code Geass/Death Note type show to ruin my week. |

If you like Bokurano, go find yourself the old cult classic (never completed) anime written by the same guy... Narutaru. Only suitable for viewers over the age of 18. _________________ You can't hold no groove if you ain't got no pocket. |

Well, as promised, I read the spoilers. Having done so, any interest I had in watching this show promptly evaporated.
The kids they killed off stayed dead, meaning the show was simply about having the kids fight and die one after another. Which is fine. It makes me glad I didn't waste my time watching it.

Not sure how you can write it off so easily... this was one of the best animes from last season... I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. _________________ You can't hold no groove if you ain't got no pocket. |

Its really simple. I value my time, and I watch anime as a form of entertainment. If a show is depressing, and I'm sorry, for me watching a bunch of kids die, one after another, is depressing. Then I'm not being entertained. I would rather spend my time doing something I'll enjoy. It may be a great drama, having these kids face death one after another, sacrificing their lives, but ya know, this whole contrived scenario is just wrong.
Simply put, time better spent elsewhere. |
