Debate: Whose the most powerful anime character and why?

How about Ryuuk (death Note)? I mean, he can't be harmed in any way in the human world and can kill anyone he wants instantly. Besides, you can't even see him if you've never touched his Death Note.

Technically, any character with an instant kill ability could be considered the strongest (e.g, Lelouch, Light, people with psychic powers that can control you or destroy your internal organs with their mind like that dude from Night Head Genesis, forgot his name). Or any god type character thats immortal. You can't really measure these type of people against each other =p.

And about the Light vs. Zero / Lelouch thing. Light's too proud / intelligent to ever work under Zero for anything other than personal gain. Lelouch on the other hand, wouldn't think about killing Light unless he knew about him. It really depends on how they meet each other, although if they faced off with knowledge about one another in a direct confrontation, neither would win. Light wouldn't look Lelouch in the eye and Lelouch wouldn't tell him his name or show him his face.

Hahah I mentioned him in my earlier post actually as one of those characters you can't win against when I was talking about characters as Light and Zero, but the reason I never went with him nor Jigoku Shoujo though between those two I'm not sure either of them can win against each other. Then again I never watched Jigoku Shoujo to the end but if she's as I think then she has a better chance of winning over Ryuuk than Ryuuk has over her. Anyway the reason I never really went with any of those is because there's no fun in picking god like character. I prefer to have a little argument which is why I went with the weaker characters that I believe can win over the so far favorite pick among the bunch meaning Goku.

But for arguments sake sure thing. This is what I know about Shikis powers if the being in question can die which Ryuuk can then he can kill him and he can simply kill ones existence. The thing is it's not really human thing that Shiki uses it's a natural thing that exists in the world, it's not created by humans it just exists and always existed. The moment something comes to live or existence then that thing will have a mark saying when it dies, simply something that dictates our death. And Shiki happens to be able to see that information and in order for his mind to comprehend all the death that he sees it's been made to lines and points. So true as long as he can't see Ryuuk then he won't be able to kill him. However it's in Shikis blood to kill irregulars such as vampires or so to say none human things. So the mare fact that Ryuuk is there means his blood should react and send him into a murderous feeling that he wants to kill in which case even though he can't see Ryuuk he might se the lines of the being that should be there but can't be seen. He's never faced anyone that's invisible so don't know if he can but I wouldn't put it past his ability to be able to.

Now than for the whole thing about Ryuuk he'd be too lazy to even fight anyone. Not to mention if he's here then he's here for fun so he'd probably have someone use the death note just to entertain him. So it's pretty hard to think he'd fight at all as I said in an earlier post you have to consider their personality if you want to claim that they'll win since it's a factor that determines it. And another factor would be that Ryuuk wouldn't even know about Shikis ability granted Shiki wouldn't know about Ryuuks so it's even but if Shikis blood reacts to Ryuuk since he's "out of this world" then he'd try to kill him just for that and he's likely succeed since there's nothing he can't kill, from the best of my knowledge. While some may think of that as god like he's almost a normal person if you count out his blood and the fact he's a first class killer with high combat ability so shot him and he'll probably die unless it's not a fatal wound. Also another interesting thing about Shiki versus Ryuuk is the simple fact that Shiki himself doesn't know his real name. Can the death note really kill someone who doesn't know his own name? Most of the time everyone knows their name but what happens when they don't? Or will he have to use the name that Shiki has been going under for all those years even though it's not his true name.

p.s. Greater than anyone is the first 7 episodes of Shakagun no Shana II. Lord knows I wanted to lill myself.

i think goku still the best..even he die, he still can back to the world without dragon ball (if i am not mistaken when he die he still can go back to the world with certain time to join fight tournament or something like that), and i heard he can be super saiyan 10 too ..so no doubt that goku is the best

So he is ressurected and flys back into the sun. and dies again. ,,,, and well if it takes more than one person, and a wish dragon, Its not Goku is stronger than Zero, But Goku + Friend + wish dragon are stronger maybe.... assuming the Friend survives long enough to wish.

Course Again the wish isn't nessesary by the end of DBZ death was a joke, and you could just leave apparently with a fully intact body no big deal. Not consistant with the start of DBZ where ones body had to be repaired and allowed to be brought to death ... but yeah...

GT goku ate the dragonballs, wish can be assumed gives him the power to wish anyone (Weaker than him) dead. Sorta like a Deathnote. among other uses of course. Not really his character though, but then again GT is hardly character.

But TTGL was way oast that, It basically could attack past, present and future, evolve immunity to any form of attack used against it, Cross Galaxies in fractions of seconds, Throw Galaxies like frizbies, Somehow spawn the Giant-esc Rasengan for Lord Genome which somehow refused into energy for TTGL. I think it basically just created matter and then split that matter into energy? rainbow colored energy.

Goku could be Super Saiyian 20000!!! (factorial Factorial Factorial) and still would be curb stomped by TTGL.

Its more a question of which name do you USE? would either work? I mean what if I had split personalities or something, one names George and one named Steve, if you deathnoted Steve, while I was George....Would I dodge?

Bah death note physics and rules are rather vague. Lucky Goku isn't so strong or enough close to it to need to use one to beat him.

Heck I could have beaten those 6 saiyans in my fridge without it, I was just testing it out. (and yes the cause of death was getting locked in the fridge)

How Is Goku not human? I mean he has a tail... but in DBZ there are humans that look like cat-men, so that doesn't really make him not human. He breeds with humans ....

Saiyan feels like a sub species of human, or Human a subspecies of Saiyan. and well... plot invented. He was BORN human and became a saiyan when DBZ started.

Bah enough about that, things the death note don't work on is silly, Has the death note ever failed to be able to kill someone with a name and bipedal? Heck the Death Note can Kill Shinigami if used correctly. If Light 'oversmarted' REM into killing herself, he certainly could outsmart Goku. Not required though, Heck I bet he could get Goku to sign his OWN name.
