Debate: Whose the most powerful anime character and why?

Aw man.....the dudes from DBZ is soo gonna pwn this one.

Strongest in BRUTE FORCE:
Monkey.D.Luffy.
Theres no doubt, this guy has crazy power, and im serious too.
If you think kyubi and hollow transformation pwns, you ain seen
nothing from luffy yet. His weakest move on gear 3rd is already
powerful enough to pound buildings to rubble.

Gear 2nd enhances his speed to the point it's equal to ichigo's
hollow trans. And whats best is he can use both Gear 2nd and 3rd at the
same time. Speed + Insane power.

Luffy's power is soo ridicules that only the weakest of his gear 3rd/combo
moves were shown. He could possible take out an island no sweat with
his strongest moves on gear 2+3 combo.

Strongest in INTELECT:
Now since theres the god-like killing style phsychological dudes with weak
physical bodies, it'l only be fair to classify them as another group.

Probably pwns.
Most of you may be thinking of Yagami Light from death note but hey~
when i choose a candidate, i have reasons to back it up.
It should be pretty obvious that Light has smarter plots then Lelouch,
But it is also obvious that their intelegence are pretty much on the same
level.

While Light spends his time hiding, Lelouch showcases himself to the
nation. Making it tougher to deal with. Light's death note is probably
the more efficient killing method, but unlike Geass, killing is the only
thing it can do.

Geass is alot more versatile giving Lelouch more ways to deal with things.
moreover, he does not need to know the person's name to kill them.
Works faster too, thus less troublesome as Light has to carry at least
a page with him everywhere.
Geass is already in his eye.

So, there you have it.
Luffy for all those Ka-Pow~!

I mean you talk about Light's 'plots' but you don't seem to mention they don't beat Luffy cuz simply like DBZ that would KILL him and end the story, in a way not good in kids shows.

Yeah he move fast. But lets face it, enemies never even TRY to kill him properly.

You are facing some-one made of rubber? Aside from a Kisame style drown jutsu type attack..... how should you attempt to beat him? Villians seemed to mostly punch him and let him bounce back...... rather untesting of him I'd say. Not that it matters One Piece Plot keeps everyone alive except in Flashbacks.

You gotta strip that from him, he'd die without it. Rubber snaps. Rubber Melts. Going Gear 3 should leave him stretched thin, making him vulnerable to .... bullets. And I believe there are enough gunman capable of hitting something as fast as Gear 2 Luffy.

Again Outside of one Piece and its plot. where nobody dies outside of flashbacks.

....With that still on you gotta trap him in a flashback to kill him.

Now we'r talking about power here, not storyline.
Proper classification would be needed or there would be
a clear winner, Light.

Not to mention One Piece is an anime, we don't have to go through
soo much physics mumbo jumbo to answer that question.

It's answered from what we see in the show.
What hurts luffy? Knifes, elements(apart from electric) and magic stuff
What does not? Smashes, Bashes and bullets~

TTGL yea~ probably crush the universe, but it's not a character neither
is it 1 person piloting that thing, meaning more classification needed
(probably a mecha group)

If stuff like that is denied, then there'l be no fun, Light will pwn all.
