i need some advice a bit about some good antivirus virus.
i used nod32 as an antivirus it is not heavy and can update freely, but yesterday i got a virus into my notebook.
the virus i don't know where it is come from? but the things that happen is my windows explorer got something written like got hacked by 1 byte then virus come. i don't know whether it is just a virus or some hacker hack my notebook and put some virus?
this virus is also very annoying because it is not just corrupt the data at drive c but also at drive d. not just that, the virus also got into my harddisk external when i was trying to move some of my important data's to there.
thanks to this virus i must format the whole thing
well that is the situation
have any of you also got something like this happening?
can any of you recommend me some good antivirus that is not heavy and always free update?
i'm using a notebook for all my activity like download mp3, anime, and many things. i don't use a desktop because i don't stay in ausi for so long only 3 until 4 years, after that i have to go back to my home country.
i would be very grateful if you can recommend me some antivirus that you used. Thanks ^^
I don't know much about virus scanners, but AVG is free and heavily updated. Virus scanners don't protect you from everything. You must take other measures as well, like installing a software that restricts other programs from modifying your registries. Spybot's TeaTimer comes to mind.
I thought nod32 is good since I've seen it being mentioned before. But I've never tried it.

I have used NOD32 for about 5 years now and it has never let me down. Antivirus programs depend on virus signatures and heuristics to function and NOD32 is one of the best in terms of advance heuristics. If the virus that infected your laptop is a new kind, you should submit it to the developers so they can include it in coming updates.
Some people may like the software while others don't. That's why it's hard to say which antivirus is the best. You can only find one that suits your need. Firewall and antispyware softwares are also very important to protect your computer so don't forget about them. _________________ What's yours is mine, what's mine is still mine.
I'm using NOD32 right now and so far, its the best one that's worked for me. I had (and still do) AVG it worked great when i first gt it. but now it just can't seem to do anythin for me. _________________ The hardest person to forgive is yourself~
